My Branches have been wilting and dying.

I am in the early stages of flowering and I have had several branches wilt and die. Each branch wilts and die before another branch starts wilting. This has been happening over the last week and a half. The plant is outdoors on my deck and get full sun from about 10am until about 5pm.

It has been very hot here until this past four days. I have had to water the plant twice a day with a gallon or more of water each time to keep the entire plant from wilting.

The last four days have been much cooler and I have cut back some on the watering but I am still seeing wilting. The branch in the photo wilted two days ago.

I watered the plant this morning and this evening the soil is still quite damp so I don't think it is suffering from a lack of water now.

I have checked for and found no sign of insects. I did spray it with Dr. Zymes today after removing the wilted branch just in case there is something there that I did not see.

Any ideas to keep the rest of the plant from wilting and dying?

I was going to say salt buildup, and do a flush but am not 100% certain.

i would say those black pots are getting over 30 o C putting the rootball into shock or stress. ive not had one go that far so dont know if they will come back from that. if its gone into shock it wont suck up that water , you could try a foliar feed . Ive got an aquarium thermometer in the top 3 inch of soil in my outside pot and if it gets near 30 o c i will shade the soil ..
its not heat/stress from the sun on the plant because the other plants are not affected

It is in a black pot. I will shade the soil/pot and see if that helps, although it has gotten much cooler here in the last week. Next year I will use a different color pot.

Also check the main stem around the branches that are wilting as it could be stem rot. I had this problem several weeks ago and found mold or fungus on the stem around the wilted branch. Cut the branch off, cut away all mold and treated with hydrogen peroxide. So far it hasn't come back. Good Luck

Make sure no rodents have been gnawing on the stalk or branches! That damage should be fairly obvious! The one branch I can see goes from green to gnarly pretty abruptly! As said above, could be some rot!

It’s not normal something bad is going on.
It’s as if as part of the plants getting no water or you have some disease I’m not familiar with
Do as the last two suggest.

There is no rodent damage.

What is that I see you have yours potted in? Is that pure rice hulls??

It's rice hulls being used to keep my living soil and flowering top dress moist. They are also mixed into the soil for drainage and when they break down after a few grows they are a good source of silica.

I don't think there's just one thing going on there. That brown branch bark color looks very concerning a few inches up from the Y and does have me wondering if it's stem rot. There's burnt tips suggesting overfeeding and what looks like potassium deficient leaves toward the bottom on the part that isn't wilting. Just a guess it was fed heavy in veg but then not charged for the flip.

The wilty stuff does resemble salt damage though, with the yellow along with them cal deficient blotches. But fungus among us also looks like that. So I don't know, not comfortable steering you toward any one thing looking at a single picture but just from that, it's what's catching my attention.
