My Grow Tent Help Please!

Hey farmers I want to make this my first grow and my first successful grow so thats why I cane here for help all I have right now is what I have in the pictures a 4x4x6.5 ft tent with a 600 watt hps and a cool tube hooked with ducting to a 6 inch extractor fan that runs 115 volts and 110 wat. I need nutrients so I need some help with that and need to learn about it to. And for soil im probably going to use fox farm ocean forest with 20% vermiculite. Any suggestions on the soil would help to.

i use ffof, add some dolamite lime and maybe 5-10% extra pearlite if you feel the need but its really breathable and doesnt overly retain water as is which is how im using it, the lime will lower ph from 7 which is where ffof starts to about 6.5 or so, not a step i

used but will next run. go with teas and microbes, should be golden with just some base nutes and a good bloom formula.

i use roots organics foundation, uprising and bloom, with some other things

Do you mind listing whats in that picture because its hard for me to read and alot of people said they use 20% pearlite. I ill be definitely buying cal mag because alot of people use that I really appreciated the help any more suggestions / criticism will also be appreciated

ffof is pretty airy with a good amount of pearlite, i was thinking about adding some next run so i can establish a bias. so far my plants look great and smell fantastic, ill look for differences and post pics. i say go for it if you want to pay for extra and arent sure, beyter safe than sorry.

Botanicair; Cal-Mag Plus(+ is added iron) great if you use RO water, i my self use half streanght with creek water, rain water and tap

Don't expect incredible results first time out the gate. Growing is something learned only through experience, trial and error and attention to detail. Do not be afraid to fail.

Okay I ran into another problem someone told me light leaks were an issue like this one here because im trying to lets some air in from the front of the tent.

When you get to flowering stage there can be no light leaks during the dark period. None. Ever. It must be completely dark.
Get ducting for your tents ducting ports To use for fresh air intake, light proof ducting.

Light leeks will be an issue if light is getting to your plants when it's supposed to be there dark period ....

You can open cents when lights are on you will lose some light but if you fill your canopy no light will reach

No light will reach out your vents when your canopy is full , my 2 cents worth mate

So I should just put ducting in the slots with no fans?

Fans are a must

A small void will form around the leaves with no air circulation the plants won't produce hardly anything

So I would have to buy a intake fan for the ducting

And also I am going to be purchasing a 400 watt MH, and I was looking for some suggestions if anyone could help me out that would be great! Thanks for the help PEACE.

You need a carbon filter or smell will become an issue during flower. It looks like your pulling air from the tent, through the cool tube, then out of the tent with the inline fan. This will also leak smell. Also try to shorten the ducting on your fan to make it more efficient. Do a bit more reading and your first run will be a lot smoother. Trust me!
