Can someone advise please. In my original post I talked about how one of my plants came from some bird seed and was growing outside. I potted the plant and put it under lights. But now that plan has encountered a problem. It wasn't looking so good and the soil remained too moist even though it hasn't been watered in days. I decided to replant it in better soil. I took it out and you could see that the overly moist soil had compacted around the plant, and I don't think it was draining and therefore keeping the roots wet. In fact, the bigger roots came away from the plant and they resembled little hoses (that's the only way I can describe it), there wasn't anything in them, but they had an outer form, if that makes sense. I repotted the plant in some decent soil, and a bigger pot. The plant in question is maybe about 12" tall, but not very filled out, though I'm guessing that's from the root issue.
My question is, does anyone think it's worth continuing with this plant, or did the root issue condemn it to death? Will it ever regrow better roots and do you think it will survive?
(Also, on a side note, I'm not really sure where to post, so if I'm not posting in the right place, please let me know. Thank you.)

Dude it's so hard to say without a picture??? Bird seed LOL really? 🤣
I had a Japanese guy working for me yrs ago. When he was in Japan they’d buy canary food, there were marijuana seeds in the seeds. They’d sift a couple of boxes of seeds and get maybe a joint. He finally moved to the USA , got tired of sifting canary seed .

Actually, I didn't believe it myself. I buy my bird seed off Amazon and when reading the reviews for different seeds, this guy kept saying he had these weed plants all around his back yard. I thought he was just being funny and I would have continued to think that if I hadn't found a plant growing in with my bamboo.
I guess you'll just have to take my word for it because that plant got root rot and I just pulled it up 2 days ago because I couldn't see it turning into anything useful. I bought my seeds and now have 11 decent looking plants from a reputable source. So, hoping those will make me happy when it's all said and done.
