Week 7, day 48.

It has been another 4 days and the girls are very thirsty. They have plenty of food now after their last top dress and fertilizer feed at the beginning of this week, now they only need rhizo/micro/fungi products to help eat whats left in the soil.

Bud shots.

Week 1, day 4 of veg.
Kir Royale by HeavyDazye.
They are 32 days old, but I am counting their first medium soak with use of products 5 days ago as day 1 of veg.

The babies are doing really well. They were almost dry yesterday morning, so I had doubts they would make it another night. With a great for respect caution I checked on them before I went to bed and sure enough they were already thirsty. It had been almost 5 days since their first medium soak. They got the rhizo and kelp products, and they each got 250ml again.

They have now been topped.

I thought I would note something here.

Being a cautious guy, as the weather warms I have started treating my bathrooms and drains for fungus gnats. I haven't seen any since I got a plumber to clear my drains with a pressure hose and then after I did my deep clean MONTHS ago which is great but how long will that last? I DO get them when the weather warms but this time I am going to try give my bathrooms and drains a weekly IPM treatment, see if that works. There was also a few probable points of outside-contamination that I sealed up and removed last week.

I do not use aerosols EVER, I hate the smell I truly do, so I use a spray bottle with natural oils and pyrethrum around the drains. OBVIOUSLY I do not spray them in my lung room or in my tent, I am just noting here that I have now started treating my drains.

I want to find 1-2 other products so I am not using the same sprays every time, as I hear that can cause bugs to become resilient. What do you guys use for direct contact bug killing?

You have fungus gnats coming from your drains? I use neem and spinosad. Diatomaceous earth is the best but that is not going to work in your drain.

Right now? Thankfully, no knock on wood! But it is warming up now, it has been quite cold here. But when the weather warms up yes, I did get them previously. About 2-3 months ago (before I started growing again) I got my drains completely blasted by high pressure, then I treated all my drains every 2 days with boiling water and natural insect spray for 3 weeks and I haven't seen them since.

Neem and Spinosad THANK YOU I have heard both of these things are good. Yes, so this is an IPM treatment for my DRAINS not my plants, so don't worry about anything you tell me to spray, the sprays wont go anywhere near them. I will check out Neem and Spinosad, because I really want to rotate 3-4 different sprays. I really appreciate the advice man!

I wonder if they are something else. Fungus gnats feed on plant roots. Maybe some other type of bug ? I saw cockroach come out sink earlier this summer I capped them off when in not use two weeks ago a giant spider crawled out and lifted the cover. I drowned it and washed it down the sink. I went to the barbershop, told my lady about the spider, on the way back she sends me a picture of crawling out, she had to kill and heavy cover was put over it in case it had more lives. I rented a house that ended up having swarms of flies in the summer after one day. It was bad had them tested and they were blood flies or something like that but basically from blood sources. Had to put bleach in the upstairs bathroom daily. Someone probably got killed in that bathroom.

Oh shit thats my bad! I get 2 types of bugs, I get drain flies in my bathrooms, and I get fungus gnats from outside that came into my small bathroom through gaps that I have now sealed, and they were attracted by the bathroom light being on which I now turn off when I leave. There was an outside contamination zone I didn't know was there until recently, but I have removed it now.

Well lets hope and pray I don't get a swarm this year . Before now I didn't do anything to them because I wasn't growing so I didn't really care about 2-3 little moths or gnats in my bathroom, but now that I am growing again, and in living soil, I am being a little more cautious and going the preventative route.

Again Im gone for a couple of days and they look even prettier! Man keep those pictures well stored because those colors are pretty. Even the mix of yellow with the natural colors of that strain is beatiful. I used to have plenty of pictures of plants that looked like that from previous grows but it was in a HDD that burned so byebye, dont make the same mistake that I did hahaha, keep them on the phone aswell or something. Maybe google cloud too.

Thank you my friend! I am also enjoying watching them continue to change colour, its like my own personal Autumn hahaha. Last day of week 7 today, first day of week 8 tomorrow.

I also was in a similar situation, where my small hard drive with my old grow pictures on it corrupted. I still don't know what happened to it, I think it might have glitched after a power surge when it was connected to my TV, and now all I have is my old reject folder that I forgot to delete off my PC, which was a folder I dragged bad pictures I didn't plan on saving. So now I have 2 hard drives. I have my PC backup hard drive that is always connected to my PC, and then I have an extra hard drive that I plug in once per month to backup my backup and I keep that one unplugged when not in use. Its a little overly cautious, but I don't want to lose all my stuff again haha I know that feeling man, I know it well .

I feel your pain. I moved all my older pictures and videos of my dogs and other memories to Microsoft computer. Then Microsoft did an update which removed all of them and moved it to a cloud instead of the machine. Which I did not ask for. Well it saved the pictures and all the videos no longer work. I would have just left them on the phone.

I remember a time when Windows used to be less invasive, but that was a long long time ago. I hear stories like that all the time now. Settings and features get forced in 1 update and automatically turned on changes or corrupts important personal files. I used to have love for Windows, I grew up on Windows 95, 98 and XP. Now they are just eugh, and if I wasn't so accustomed to Windows I would change .

Dude I hate that thing. I rarely use it and when I do it does an update that takes an hour. By the time it updates I already completed the task on my smartphone and they only reason I a fired it up is my fat fingers and small buttons and I don’t want accidentally load a photo or document when applying for jobs. So I get double frustrated from finicking with the phone and the pc. Would definitely not recommend. I was tripping out when I couldn’t find the pictures. I had a little relief when I found them but it was heartbreaking not having some of those videos. They also want like $89 a year to utilize some of the programs. So I needed it to create a resume. Guess what you need to pay $89 for the office package,The older stuff you owned everything you paid for was yours and didn’t need the internet to use the programs. Now they want to lease it.

It is the first day of week 8, so I thought I would do some more trich shots. The front plant is a little easier to capture but when I have to lean over for the other 2 plants a lot of the shots were out of focus, so there are more of the front than the others.

Front plant.

Right plant.

Left plant.

Even with windows you have to disable a bunch of privacy settings that come on by default. The most invasive ones like the microphone recording and AI for your adds they ask when you install but some others come by default I honestly dont care anymore, the only thing Im careful with is my phone number, they try to trick you all the time to get it and sell it. I dont do anything shady the worst they can find is my grows but I doubt the Interpol or the CIA will have much to say about that

Thank you guys and girls so much, it has been a really fun re-ignition of my growing odyssey!

So I am thinking the start of week 9 I will chop them down. When looking at my seeds I chose Grifter because it was one of the faster finishers at week 8-9 and I wanted to pump out a quick grow. Looking at their trichs up close when I use the loupe as a monocle the heads are mostly milky, so they are on track. Flowering time given by the breeder is 58-62 days, so I think day 1 of week 9.

Once they come down I have some work to do as well! I have to re-do my exhaust ducting, because I am not happy with it, so I bought new ducting a few weeks ago. I think next grow I will start my next seeds the day I flip to flower.

Also. Waiting until week 3 to plant the next round was how I did it when growing in coco, but I think in living soil things move a little slower. My Kir Royales are still so small haha. Next time I might plant my seeds the day I flip to flower, because right now I wish my Kir Royales were 2 weeks older .

Week 8, day 52. It is day 3 of week 8.

Yesterday it had been 3 days and a half, and the girls were already completely dry. I added only rhizo to this water. Smell is amazing. Sweet, apple, zesty, very pungent and ripening. Purple as hell. Now that we are at the end, it looks like the Right plant is going to be the heaviest AND the most frosty. Yellow Monster still smells the best for some reason.

Temperature kept at 20-21, humidity at a stable 40%. I have had no more temp or humidity spikes, may the Great Turtle whose Great Shell we live upon continue to bless this weather.

Bud shots.

Week 1, day 7 of veg. Last day of the first week of veg.

The Kir Royales didn't want to wait another day either, drying out in just 3 days. Yesterday they all drank 250ml each again, and I added kelp and rhizo to the water. They were topped 4 days ago, branches have been catching up. They were getting a little large to be sitting so uniformly, so I gave them their own space by reorienting again. By their next water in a few days they will be in their new 4.5 litre pots.

I was going to turn the LED up, but look at how happy they are. They are just BARELY praying at 150w of light at 30", so I am satisfied with that for now.
