Look at the pistils - they turn white to brown/red - once about 70%-90% red then also check trichomes - are they clear or cloudy? Think you're looking around 70% cloudy before harv.

Welcome to the Farm! Well done on your first seed! Definitely not a seed anymore hahaha! Are you able to get a jewelers loupe? That will be your best bet at checking for trichomes. You’ll see some “sugar leaf” trichomes out on the leaves and those usually turn a little sooner than the trichomes on and in the buds (those are the trichomes you’re wanting to look for color change) first clear second milky third amber. I’m a more amber trichome on the plant kind of guy but everyone is different, youll get a few different correct answers im sure : )

This and only this hairs are no good they vary plant to plant, the only uniform aspect across al plants are the trichomes

Thanks I started the seed in a wet paper towel, placed it in a dark corner of the room Waited for roots to grow, then transplanted it in a small pot and set it in the window for about a month then transplanted it out side in back of a small flower garden I have, around June. Where it got mostly full sun all day. I live in zone 5b in NY. Now we’re getting frost Probly should cut it soon and dry it

Dear dear LOL when it has flowers like yours that's a female but if your that unsure perhaps i need to finish it for you.......i'll be right over LOL just kidding. Lady you did fine your first grow and got lucky with getting a female. Who cares what strain it is some of the best plants i've grown over the 40+yrs outdoors were bag seed monsters.

Not for me I don't use the leaves. Yes they will slow the drying process down which is OK but most remove the big fans at least. Leaf is very harsh to smoke

Good lookin out son! : ) yes Suelin I would at the least trim the fan leaves then youll have some smaller leaves that can stay or go. I do what’s called a wet trim which is getting rid of all the fan leaves and I scissor cut some of the smaller leaves off before i hang. Then ill fine trim it later (rub the dry leaves of as I pick a bud out to smoke lol)
