Hey yall , I have 2 grows going in 2 separate vivosun vgrow boxes.

Growing solefires fx3 and lemon elixer .

Growing in coco/perlite ,Self watering (not using the watering system in vgrow) , cal/mag ,silica, liquid nutrients (1 light feed so far on both). Some great white microbes as well.

Temps range from 74-79 degrees 61-70% humidity .9-1.3 vpd lights on

67-69 degrees 68-73% humidity .6-.9 vpd light out.

Fx3 strain is in about 2nd week of veg. Seems to be healthy and growing strong. Having some light curling upwards. Not sure why?

Lemon elixer not doing too good from the start. Need help identifieng what could be going wrong.

Any help appreciated. Thanks !

Here's some pics.

The seedling is definitely struggling. More concerned with her.

Prepped coco, with silica/ cal/mag ,then transplanted seed in coco.

Gave 1 light feed with liquid nutrients ,calmag, silica, greatwhite microbes.

5.8 ph, 18/6 light,

Did the same thing with my fx3 strain and she looks pretty ok.

Not sure what happened with the seedling.

Calm your nerves these plants are babies, at least for 6 weeks they look fine just remember to not over water them.

I've got a strain of seeds right now called Alien OG that starts out with warbly leaves like that but it straightens itself out. Why it happens, I'm gonna assume something like the mother that produced the seed didn't have the best silica uptake so they don't have the best cell wall structure at first until they uptake their own. Just an assumption is all since they outgrow it.

Just be careful feeding them young. I realize your growing in an inert medium but they really don't require external nutes until about 3 weeks or third node and so feeding until then should be just trace amounts waiting for them when they're ready to eat.

Best of luck with your grow!

Yeah should be fine at 80 at that stage. As ninja said could be genetics. Just keep checking her, and let us know if she gets worse.

Make sure you are watering and feeding for Coco! Not for soil! Good luck!

Just a quick update!

The fx3 strain is thriving! She's growing fast !

The lemon elixer is still struggling a bit with spotted leaves and very slow growth compared to the fx3 .

I had a question about defoliating my fx3 strain. There are some really big fan leaves that are blocking some light on the lower portion. Can I just remove them?

Here's some pics , would like to remove the 2 top fan leaves and 2 lower. Would that be an issue? Plant was topped about 4 days ago.

They look pretty close to on track. Just need a couple tweaks.

That FX3 with the leaf edges curling up is getting a little too much light. That's classic "praying" or tacoing. You want maybe 200-250 PPFD for week 2 veg. Either dim the light 10-20% or raise it up a few inches.

Back off the silica for a week too. Sometimes that stuff makes the leaves rigid and twisty when the feed is light.

The Lemon Elixer looks stunted. In coco that's usually underfeeding or keeping it too wet. Stop the bottom watering for now and top feed once or twice a day with good runoff, like 10-20%.

Feed every time in coco, no plain water. Hit it with 0.8-1.0 EC, maybe 400-500 ppm on the 500 scale. Keep your pH 5.8-6.0.

When you mix it up do silica first if you use it, then cal-mag to about 0.2-0.3 EC, then your base nutes to get to 0.8-1.0 EC, then adjust pH.

If that coco wasn't pre-buffered hit it with extra cal-mag for the next few waterings to charge up the cation sites.

Let just the top half inch dry between feeds but keep the pot airy. Don't let it sit wet all the time.

Keep your night temps above 70F if you can. Roots don't like it cold. Don't put that fabric pot on a cold floor.

Just gentle airflow, don't blast them. Throw up a sticky trap to check for gnats.

Watch the new growth over the next couple days. The color and leaf size should pick up on that Lemon Elixer first.

I will order a ppfd meter tonight.

I actually don't use the bottom feeding. I have been top feeding since the beginning till a little runoff. I will lay off the silica for the lemon elixer.

I use RO water at 10ppm as my start, I add my silica, calmag, base notes, adjust pH to 5.8 and check ppm. Last feed was around 650 ppm for both plants. Think I'll back off the ppm a bit like u suggested.

Will get plants off the floor and try to keep temps higher at night (difficult)

But im a little throw off by you saying to water every day? I usually water every 4-7 days depending on weight of pot.
