Hello thanks! I'm using a 70/30 mix of botanica coco coir and perlite. I'm going to keep a close eye on the pH on my next feedingdWelcome! What medium? Just a shot in the dark but my guess is ph maybe a touch low
I did not, i used botanicare coco coir brand coco . It said that it was already buffered so I assumed it had assumed it did not need to be pre charged. You think I should of have had pee charged it?Did you pre charge the coco with cal-mag?
No not tea bags lol. What are nematodes?. I used distilled water gallons cut in half and laid a sheet of paper towel in the base to hold the coco and eventually the root mass tighter together so when I transplant to bigger container the coco won't crumble. Coco coir I saw seemed to crumble so easily. What are the tea bags? Nematodes?
Oh snap didn't know clear plastics could damage the roots. Just had empty gallons of distilled water laying around, just thought I can use them as an intermediate container for the seedlings before I move them to bigger pots. I did poke holes in the bottom to help drain more easily, actually drains pretty well. I was hoping the paper towel will help keep the root mass more compact when I move them over to bigger pots. Quick question what is a slurry test?Clear plastic and paper towels is your soil is a no go. Clear plastic will allow light to penetrate your soils base killing off roots. Did you poke holes in the bottom?
Anyhoo color and all looks fine to me, your going to want to wait till they are larger to give em more nutes, doing a run off and slurry test will clear up any PH issues you might be having, provided you PH accordingly after.
I was planning on keeping them on the nute regimen I've been giving at least another week before bumping up the nutesOh snap didn't know clear plastics could damage the roots. Hello, If you grow in coco the ph is lower for optimal growth, 5.8-6.3 is the range. Soil the range is higher. Distilled water has a PH no less than 7. So using distilled water without reducing the PH to optimum range is stressing your plants and locks out nute uptake. The ph rises more than it falls in my experience, so I adjust to 5.8 so if it rises it is still in range for best growth. I am talking strictly coco coir 70/30 perlite medium here. A plant can survive within PH range 5-8. But it will not thrive if you dont maintain optimum PH range always. Cheers!!Wassup guys and gals. New to the group and also a new grower. Was wondering if someone could give some advice for my first ever grow. I've got 3 week old plants that have some yellowing starting near the base of the leaf. New leaf are coming in a bit yellow. I've done some searching and i think and am hoping its calmag deficiency but am not too sure. I don't think it's nute lock out since tips aren't burnt. Growing in coco coir perlite mix 70/30. Feeding them the general hydroponics trio. Micro, grow, bloom and calmag. I've been feeding and watering them with distilled water today was my first feeding with tap water.
I've been feeding them for the last week
2ml-calmag
2.5 ml-micro
2.5ml-grow
1ml-bloom
All per gallon of water
Flush every 2-3 days with plain distilled water.
Ph 5.5-5.8
Ppm ~420
Temp-70-78°f
Humidity-45-60%
Lights set up is a spider farmer sf4000 copy got it at 30" above the plants @60% intensity
Usually feed in the morning before work one hour after lights come onView attachment 1100368 around 6am and once at around 11pm one hour before lights turn off
Distilled water doesn't need phed. Since it has no buffers it goes to whatever the soil ph is. Adding ph up or down to distilled water is not only unnecessary but probably harmful.Hello, If you grow in coco the ph is lower for optimal growth, 5.8-6.3 is the range. Soil the range is higher.
