First time grower here. Removed some bottom leaves 2 weeks ago. Flipped lights 4 days ago. Worried plants don’t have enough airflow, but don’t really want to remove leaves right now. Any advice appreciated.

Well as much as I’m not a fan of defoliation unless there’s a need yours are very bushy & close together witch does satisfy the need.

Don’t go mad remove only 10% at one time to avoid them getting stressed

The lower ones aren’t going to get much light so I’d start there.

In veg is a good time to do it
During flowering only do it after the first two of flowering some will wait till they have been flowering for 21 days

Don’t go mad & remove to much it’s not beneficial & doesn’t add more yield as some bro science folks will say

Removing the bottom ones does increase the tops size but overall it doesn’t increase yield it only removes the larf buds

If you put two plants together one that hasn’t had the larf buds removed & one that has the overall yield will be the same

It is can be beneficial to remove the larf bud sites.

However defoliating the tops isn’t beneficial unless like yours there to bushy

I’ve taken my bias out of the thread & have only given you information that’s proven scientifically

Not every one will do so some will tell you to take loads off & tell you to remove all the fan leaves that cover bud sites

Tuck the fan leaves that cover bud sites

I give my plants a major defol 3-4 days before I flip. Gives them a few days to recover. Day 21 ish I do it again.

Since you already flipped, I would just pluck big fan leaves until it is open enough that air is moving throughout the whole plant.
I agree with Gmix that at this stage 10% removal should be the max. If you need to do more, wait 3 or 4 days. I would clean out the bottoms
at about day 21 or when it stops stretching.

Having said that, remember that our favourite plant is a weed. It will adjust to whatever conditions you provide. Some plants like to be left
alone and others want that haircut.

Plants look great especially for a first time grower. It looks like you have 4 plants there. What strain ?

During veg I am plucking anything that impedes air flow.

Maybe next grow try light defol on 3 and go hard on 1. You will learn a ton about your plants and growing in general.

Good luck.

It get's easier as you get more experience. Keep posting because there is a ton of really smart peeps here.
I've been lurking this site for years and almost always found what I needed. I like to see different approaches
and then figure out which one or combination works best for me.
