Morning! Its a good insecticide and fungicide and eco friendly because its also safe for bees, it only kills fungus and soft bodied insects like mites, thrips, gnats, etc...
EDIT: If youre wondering yes, neem oil kills bees.

I just bought the Captain Jacks Insecticidal Super Soap right now. Glad I stumbled on this thread this morning cause I was nearing reorder time.

I’m sure you’ve figured this out already, but the reason to avoid neem on plants altogether is the risk of damaging the plant. In veg you can burn your plant if it’s not applied right and sometimes even when it is. When people use it in flower, it ruins the bud. If you’ve never experienced a bud that has neem on it, it’s horrendous. It’s better reserved for other crops if you have a choice.

A long time ago lol

I used it in veg. Twice
I tried making bubble out the leaves & it was rank. Still stupid I used it again got the ratio wrong & burnt the crop.

I never did get that taste outa my mouth it was the rankest taste ever.

That had me laughing as that’s not going to help with bugs

I’ll admit I was in my hotel room & hadn’t had a spliff so ole moody popped his head in lol

only mentioned it adds some nitrogen is because some people will dump a shit load and then add normal nutrients and it will mess things up for them if they aren't aware.

Oh I see hahaha but I think he said he adds it for pests but also gives nitrogen just as a side detail as its something to consider if youre gonna use it because it has quite a bit. Azadirachtin is what neem oil and neem meal has that kills insects. I wake and bake and Im still grumpy when I wake up, cant imagine how it would be without my morning joint

this is what i was meaning, thanks for putting up the detail for me.

Yes. Deadbug is what I use to kill off the general waves of bugs that like to move in at night. I spray the plants once every other week in veg only with ready-made neem. I would never take the time to prepare the oil itself. Like @Gmix said, you don’t want that stuff on your buds. They’re gnarly if you use it during flower.

I have the same Neem oil as u have, just in concentrate. I'd be mixing 1/2 gallon, minimum. Should I need it for mold, basically. Though I hear other was to attack to attack that.

Oil is oil, it doesn't really dry. It's always there.

I lightly dusted these gals last night around 11:00 pm. You can’t really see it when the sun isn’t hitting it but you can sure smell it. It does the trick.

I do I spray my veg plants one night a week with neem. I grow in coco so there a lot of moisture and I hate fungus gnats so I do this and haven’t had the problem since. Never damaged a plant or any problems whatsoever except for if you asked the fungus gnats. They definitely hate the stuff lol

I do buy it concentrated and mix it very lightly.

As soon as I put them in 12-12 I don’t use it.

this clone of white widow, i think its still in veg, had lots of aphids. on Friday, 7/18/25, i sprayed already prepared neem oil spray.
a couple of questions:
1). there is a very large Don Carlos planted 6 feet away, as shown on left in picture. I think its still in veg. should I spray this one too because its so close? I don’t see aphids on it.
2) the one i sprayed, the leaves and branches are so thick, should i repeat spray to make sure i got them all?
3) should i use a insecticidal soap spray as a follow up spray instead of neem?
thank you

It does dry and degrade, specially outdoors but also indoors, thats why I thought it was safe to use it during veg and still think it is if youre not close to flower but I dont wanna risk it. It takes a few days for the neem oil to start degrading and in a couple of weeks most of it should be gone. Should be.

What is true is that oils stay for longer, potassic soap loses all its potential once it dries but you can apply every week and the worst that can happen is that youre gonna have to feed them less potassium but thats speculation, never had potassium issues while ussing potassic soap but thats what it degrades into and what the plant takes.

Oh right different ball game personally I use. nematodes or predators whichever I need if I need them. Outside there gonna fly away or move to a different area so there not really useful for you.

I have heard stories about people using companion plants that just could be bro science you know do they actually work well enough to make a difference

I’d be willing to bet that depending on where you are, companions plants probably do work. They wouldn’t work where I’m at. We have a bug or critter for everything that grows.
