To answer your question directly, it can't work, if you're trying to stay legal. No one who grows will be harvesting less than 1.5 oz., so everyone who grows will be committing a misdemeanor, at least. The parts of the law you want to read carefully are the "Possession with intent to distribute" section and anything that stipulates a minimum distance from a school. That's where you potentially get into felony charges, big fines, and jail time. All that said, if you follow the "no smell, no sell, no tell" guideline, you can probably do what you like.

Welcome Catlin. Southern Md was where i bought my first house. My wife is from Bowie md. Theres a lot of good growers here and most are really helpful. The regs regarding growing are nonsense all over the country. I wish they’d treat it like a home brewery, or a small tobacco farm. In the meantime, I am thrilled to have five LEGAL plants. Never thought id see it get this far. Happy growing!
