Usually most strains will double in size, not necessarily in height. just over all.
There will be an increase in height, but you can control that with bending tops down some.

Thanks, I want to keep the clones manageable. If the volume doubles that will work. Not doing anything fancy here, decent yield and a successful grow.

Supercropping is another option..To keep them shorter and possibly increase yields/potency too. Some strains hardly stretch at all and some will go 3x or more..Happy growing.

A plant switched from veg to bloom will increase canopy and foliage by about 2X-2.5X or more....
One can expect approximately 1oz of dried bud from each 12" of budstem. Lower branches might develop buds but the top growth will be the bits which develop the densest buddage, so measuring from the top downwards of the flowering plants each foot of buddage should yield 1oz of dried bud. This is a rule of thumb for guestimation purposes only.

I suggest you keep the MH lamps for the first 2 weeks after flipping timing to 12/12 as this tends to keep the plants internodes closer/shorter. Replace the MH with HPS after the 'stretch' has begun to slow or stop.

Thanks for all the info! If I can achieve these recommendations that would be great. I do have one other question regarding the clones, Should I trim all the fan leafs when my time switches to 12/12 or leave them?

Here's what happened when I tried to keep my Big Blue Cheese(s) (MSNL) shorter..FAIL..(3x3x6 tent)
No way to run HPS/CMH in the High desert of Nevada..too hot in the summers (over 100 days). My central A/C barely keeps up as it is.

This is a personal choice and to some a bone of contention.
The sunleaves are little solar panels and batteries for the plant, collecting and storing energy.
Leaving them on the plant benefits it. EXCEPT for when it doesn't! :D

If you have a really dense canopy removing large sunleaves might be of benefit because of the clear space and airflow this creates. It also lets other growing shoots get light directly.

After a certain amount of growth upwards the lower parts of the plant are shaded out and will grow thin buddage @best. Some remove lower growth below a set level on the plant. This CAN be beneficial because it clears space for airflow, clears foliage which is unproductive and will eventually wither.
Its up to the grower to judge for themselves if or when one might remove sunleaves.

When I scrog I tend to remove big sunleaves from the vegging plant as they grow above or through the SCROG screen, This is to promote side-branching and light to the lower shoots. When I flip to 12/12 I will sometime during 'the stretch' period of the first 2 weeks since flip, remove all leaves and foliage from below the SCROG screen. This clears airflow so there is less chance of mold or bugs taking hold. It gives easy access to the plants under-canopy for maintenance also.
