Looks like possible over watering to me. Usually underwatering and the branch and leaves droop. Over watering you tend to see the branch hang in there but the leafs droop. Did you just recently water those? How often are you watering and how much? A single over watering is unlikely to cause this but if you are chronically over watering it will.

The issue is your overwatering. You gotta learn to use less and keep them off the ground. Roots need air. Until you learn basic grow practices all the fancy terms and products won't help till you understand plant needs. Grow less plants, lift the pots to fill the heaviness of wet to dry.

I think the light pot/heavy pot method is too subjective to the new grower. Nothing beats a concrete answer. For that, invest in this very reasonably priced tool. Hint, get one like in the picture ... not one with batteries!

OK i see your point. As long as that keeps reading correctly until they learn. I've seen so many new growers rely on faulty equiptment but if it gets them started well in learning about watering practices then go for it.

Like others have pointed out it looks like you are overwatering (not allowing medium to adequately dry before watering again)

Best bet is to allow medium to dry out fully over a few days, then water slowly and make sure the medium is hydrated evenly, wait a few days, repeat. One of the most important things in healthy watering practices is allowing your soil to dry out before adding more water. Usually 2-3 days for a mature plant between waterings for a 2x2 space with adequate intake and exhaust.

Additionally I’d definitely look in to getting more control over temps as your plant is showing signs that it’s getting very cold, likely during lights out period.

Problem is rectifiable but you’ll have to take all these good folks advice quickly and get it back to normal.

Best of luck dude, still lots of potential in the grow!

Yes, the grower would want to water their plant consistently between a reading of 3 and 4.

P.S. I have been growing for years and both my wife and I still use the meter. We know what the schedule will be once the plant sets the pattern ... but we always verify with a quick probing of the soil in multiple spots.

Tried using one of these when I started growing but got a defective unit. Curious how effective/accurate they are

Good… only use PH up or down… not both at the same time.

What would happen if you used both? Im new and have up/down for when I get everything planted, but haven't heard this before.

If yours had a battery, that's why. I have never had an accuracy issue using a bi-metalic rod based meter to read moisture levels. Of course, like any other measuring tool, it should be handled with a certain amount of care ... like don't bend the probe.

There was in fact a dented probe on the one I had gotten, I didn’t know that would have been the problem though. Thank you

You need to try to lock in your temp, Relative humidity (RH) and your airflow. Then look at your watering practices. You’re catching it early and looking for advice at the right time
