The caterpillar and it's poo creates the perfect environment for Botrytis to grow.

So trash the plant? Or is it possible to harvest the buds not affected.

Cut the good buds off the stems. The ones without any 'bad' brown looking leaves/calyxes. Anything that looks different than the whole plant should be trashed. Wash the good ones in bins with water, H2O2 and lemon juice, (Bud washing) then in another bin clean water, let drip dry, then into mesh nets to dry. That will help discourage the mold from progressing, not eliminate it so you have watch the humidity until cure. Please toss any suspect. I know, it hurts.
Sorry, lots to process. Outdoor is a challenging place to grow these plants. They are hardy annuals and grow fast, but also tasty to the local flora and fawna and fungus. LOL

In my outdoor grows, I usually get some bud rot, so this is to be expected. Which is why some people NEVER grow outdoors, it's a battle from the time you take the tiny plants outside, till you try and harvest.
Most growers can count on 1/4-1/2, maybe 3/4 harvest, but there's ALWAYS loss.

Yeah I get it. This was the last outside plant. I grew 11.
I'll just trash it and be done This was my first outdoor grow. I grew 11this year and you're right it's definitely harder to grow outside. Even the smell from the plants I was worrying about.
