Hello!

I am about 6-7 weeks into my first grow, and it’s been a bunch of fun so far. Really getting into it, and wanted to learn about it as much as I can while I go!

Nice healthy looking plants. Those will grow up real nice! Are you planning to keep those 7 girls in that size tent?

Thank you! They are actually bag seeds, so I was assuming they are just regular photos that will lead to roughly half m/f. I switched to 12/12 this past week, but don’t think I can tell the sex quite yet. I can only have 4 flowering at a time legally, so I figure finding 3 or 4 females out of the group would be best case anyways. Thanks for the reply!

Old school. I like it! I asked because I think we all were surprised just how much our first grow stretched and bushed out. When you have the parameters correct and it looks like you do…they explode. I now grow one plant in a 3x3 instead of four like my first grow.

haha that’s funny, I thought I had all the room in the world in a couple weeks ago! They are in smaller pots(2 gal), do you think 3 or 4 would end up being fine in here? Or am I biting off more than I can chew? lol

Umm… what do I do if they are all female? I am pretty sure there are pistils coming from all 7 after about a week and a half of 12/12. Not sure there’s enough room for all these ladies

You probably need to act quick. How much space do you have between your light and plants today? I’m thinking you could still top them. Then mainline the colas to fit the tent. However, if you enjoy what you are doing..then it might be time to upgrade. I use a tent that size as my nursery to start the next grow. So, the natural progression to your hobby would be a larger tent and more powerful gear.

If they're all fem I would flower 4 and and re-veg the rest. You could then make one (or all) a mother plant, give them away to friends or put them in the backyard!

It really sucks to cull plants but in the long run it's better for your garden not to be too crowded.

If all of the above is not possible just lollipop the shit out of them now and hope for the best. Sea of green was a really popular style way back when lol

Good job, better to have too much than too little. If there are many plants the plants will be smaller and will fight for space and air and light and you have to fertilize them more and they will all come out perfect. Sometimes remove some and leave space to bloom to those that give better or the same final result. Less is more. With experience we learn to maximize our crop.

I appreciate the ideas!

I am thinking of seeing if I can find a buddy to take a plant or two - otherwise it’s sounding like taking all 7 through flower in this tent may be a poor choice. Would I just choose my favorite 4 or 5? Or the plants that are the most similar in height?

I have about 20 inches between lights and plants, with multiple feet of room(6ft tent). They’ve all been topped once, so not super tall. Light is a p2000 viparspectra btw

I'd pull the odd balls as they stretch into flower. Shorter, taller, less color, not drinking, too bushy. Every plant is unique and there are always a few you wish you didn't have when growing multiples in the same tent.

Smart to flip early when they are reg. seeds and also cause the pots are small for photoperiod. You'll learn as you go. Any time now you outta be able to see small little grapes dangling from the males. Last 2 bag seed i grew came out both female. Good luck and keep posting.

Lmao probably a rookie mistake, but I’m think I may be trying to make it work with them all

I’ve taken off a bunch of lower leaves and any smaller branches that I didn’t think would make it up to the canopy. So it’s really just 4-6 main tops per plant.

Luckily my basement is dry as hell, like mid 30s rh, so keeping my humidity down with open vents and whatnot has been pretty easy. I’ll say watering 7 different plants in small pots has been rather tedious, but that’s been really the only issue so far. I’m sure there are things I’m not thinking about though, so let me know if you see any issues coming that I may not be expecting!

It’ll get tight but you can do it! I dont think they are big enough yet to be a problem. But that tent is going to be a freaking jungle! your going to have to defol and keep great air movement! your going to need to keep eyes on your RH (high rh will increase your chances of mold and mildew)

im a wild man so I like the idea of filling the tent to its fullest! go gettem bro!
