So I've not grown autos before but a friend gave me these LA Kush seeds a year ago and I thought I'd give em a whorl. I am reusing the Build-a-Soil from my last grow and I mixed in some amendments and left it outside for a few weeks. A few weeks after popping the seeds I noticed a fly. A few days later they were everywhere so I went to Home Depot and got some fly paper for about $5 and hung a few up in the tent and cut a few apart and stapled them to some wood holders so I can keep them close to the soil. Its been less then a week and the fly paper is covered with dead flies and just a few left to see flying around.
When the seedlings came up 2 of them had the seed husk stuck and enclosing the cotyledons. I managed to get those off but then the cotyledon leaves were stuck together at the tip so after a few days when they didn't come apart I cut off the tips. Those 2 plants are now smaller than the 3rd but seem okay. The one looks runtish but I hope she catches up.
So other than those 2 hiccups things are going well. Just watering once a week for now and watching them do their thing.

It's a week later and the flys and nats are gone. The plants are doing well and I see the first pistil on the largest plant. It's been a little over 3 weeks since they came up.
This grow is in Build-a-Soil, SpiderFarmer 2000, 25 inches and 40%, rain water once a week.

Week 4 and things are looking good. No yellow leaves and no red stems. Just a nice green and a bit of stretch now. I like how little I have to do with these autos and Build-a-Soil, just water and wait.

Yesterday the weather was so nice we spent most of the day outside and I seem to have forgotten to post my Saturday update. So here is week 5 update.

All three autos are looking healthy and I’m looking forward to seeing some buds start to form here soon. Lots of pistils so far. I set the smaller one on a pedestal to move it closer to the light.

I was reading here and there about how to entice reluctant autos to flower. Didn’t find much. I did some lower level defoliation and didn’t move the light up as they grow taller, thinking a little stress might motivate flowering. I’m at 18” @ 50%. That’s about 350 PPFD according to Photone. Will see if that has a positive effect. I was thinking that these are 7 gallon pots so maybe they feel happy to veg a bit longer in there.

IDK what's up with these ladies, LA Kush Autoflower at week 7, but they keep getting taller and they're blooming but like in slow motion. The rains have subsided here in Northern Virginia for at least a few days so I'm taking the tallest one outside and see if it can harden up and move out there. Is that even possible when she's already in flower? I'm gonna find out cause they have run out of space
in the tent.

Wow man those are fucking huge for autos as far as I’ve seen…I’ve got one outside right now, my first auto too, but mine is a little runt.

I’ve seen more people have issues with them than those who don’t. And all the hype makes people think they are “easy” to grow or for beginners…BS. They are a pain in the ass for most.

I know it’s not supposed to matter, but what’s your light cycle looking like?

In the tent its 18/6, daylight outside is about 14.5 hours now but since they're autos IDK if that will matter. Well I'm going to try and see what happens with the tallest one. If it works I'll take the other two out too.

Good luck man…I’m gonna give autos another go next March or April outdoors…I grabbed a few seeds from Mephisto…they only sell autos so I’m hopeful they’ve got it dialed in…the one I’m growing now was a freebie from Blimburn…started slow and has just continued slowly…starting week 2 since I noticed it started to flower…Hellfire OG….pretty fucking lame and disappointing so far lol…it’s ok I’m just looking for a few early nugs before the outdoor photos finish.

I see they didn't show a lot of vigor. I hope you get some good nugs. Since this is my first auto grow I don't have much wisdom to impart but why don't you plant a few now outside for the summer season? It's still just June 1, summer doesn't start for 20 days. Time for another auto cycle. I'm planting a photo outside now. I started one outside a month ago but it was so cold and rainy it died so I started another and kept it in the tent and taking care it only gets 14 hours of light a day so it doesn't freak when it gets outside. Hardening it off now. But the night time temps are still in the 50's. It's been weird weather so far this year.

I spent a week hardening off the tallest LA Kush auto flowering plant and a Blueberry Pancakes photo seedling from Humbolt Seeds and moved them out side to the garden yesterday. I have my fingers crossed on that. I don't know if it's possible to harden off a plant in flower. Now there's a bit more room in the tent.
I dug a hole and back filled with some sand and plopped her in. Then I thought she's a fragile indoor girl and she's not going to be ready for thunderstorms, so I put up some stakes and tied her round a bit.
During the process this week it was sunny and warm every day and I noticed that outdoors these seven gallon pots need to get watered like every other day. Inside they only need water about every 6 days. Big difference with the temps and air movement. I should mulch her good.
Tomatoes are growing like gangbusters.

Week 9 update showing the plant I moved outdoors putting on a bit of flower. Pistils getting some orange. Maybe getting pollen on the wind. or hard pressed dealing with sunshine. Big rain last night but she doesn't seem damaged.
Indoors looking healthy and some sugar leaves starting.
The SpiderFarmer 4" inline fan that I've had from the beginning 4 years ago crapped out so I upgraded to a 6 inch AC Infinity Cloudeline. Seems like a nice unit. Quiet and plenty of umph for 2x4x5 tent. Only give 2 clamps so I had to go out first thing and get more. I have it outside the tent and I made a felt inlet filter with a wire ball inside to keep it from collapsing.

Here they are at 10 weeks. The buds on the one I transplanted outside look a little bit bigger and denser than inside ladies. Seems like the buds are fattening slowly. Maybe that's just my own time fuzziness. 2-1/2 months to here and maybe a month or more to go so I guess 4 months from start to finish is a little quicker than photos. We'll see. I guess I expected a miracle quick finish.
Shortened the day for the tent from 18/6 to 12/12 and increased PPFD from 500 to 950 over a time period of 2 weeks. DLI at 35 now. There's a little bit of yellowing tips at the top so I guess that's as far as they want to go. The tops are about 8 inches from the light so I have a light breeze on them all the time. Watering every 6 days inside. It's has been raining a lot so I haven't had to water outside but the weather is supposed to change to hot and dry.

Gettin' antsy. But I only see a few amber so far. I think I'd like to see a good 15%. I'll look again in a week. Thanks for the prod.
