New Room Diagram

Hello,

I am new to this site. I have read so many threads and ideas on here I think I am finally ready to buy everything tomorrow. Before I do I wanted to see if anyone had any input for my grow room. I will be using 2 1000 watt lights. It is in a crawl space. I am having to cut a hole in the dry wall for the ventilation where I will be hooking up my carbon filter. I am planning on about 8 feet by 4 feet. I am going to have to dig out some dirt to make the ceiling high enough. Right now there is about 4 feet. I am thinking about digging down a foot or two. Any and all ideas are welcome. I have watched a lot of friends grow but never done it myself. I have a a preliminary outline of costs of about $1,500. Trying to keep it in that range but will up it if it is worth it.

few things i see. is that the air needs to be vacuumed or pulled from the filter if its the kind of filter most grow stores sell the active carbon filter you show needs a inline fan right in front of it so the air is pulled thru the filter then blown outside so its clean air that dont stink. So your building this under a house, man that sound beyond nuts to me but would love to follow along and help out. Other thing is this is a small area for two 1000 watt lights. before you move any plants in check that your temps are in the right range. may need to turn ballast down some.

Yes I now realize that the can fan needs a pump(which I already have on the left) I will add a fan to the filter as well. Thanks for the heads up. I am working on a new diagram and will upload shortly. I will also post pictures as I go. I got all of the trash out today and am working on digging down a few feet to give me more room for my plants, as of now there is only about 4 feet. I also hear what you are saying about that not being much room for 2 1000 watt lights. The crawl space is far larger than I will ever need so I am going to make the grow area bigger. My soon to be uploaded diagram will show my new ideas.

im using 2 hps 400s in a 4 by 8.2 1000s will keep a whole house warm and 1000s need more height unless you plan to duct them too.even then you are really overkill on lights.i suggest you look into those cree cobs they brag about on here and go that route if you got dough for 1000 watters then pour it that direction,i know i would if i had the money.
next i think you need to dig 2 or 3 feet out.you really need at least seven feet minumum.from my experience.but im no pro.

Id put the hood all the way as close as possible to the roof. take out your air pump your inline fan that sits on top of your carbon filter will pull air in and then push the rest through the two hoods and out the other side. We do it this way to keep smell from being pulled into the system( from small seals on hood..ect) dont need air in.

that dirt floor is gonna stir dust that can get in your light system.to keep dust down,you may want to lay down some poly,or drop cloth.

Yeah I am trying to get at least 7 feet. About to head out to Home Depot to get a pick axe and get to work. After I get the floor level and a good height I am going to cover every square inch with 30 mill poly. Then I have some bio-film. It is a very white 10 mill poly that is a replacement for mylar. The Mylar was so thin I didn't like it. I will cover the whole grow area with the bio-film. This stuff cost a lot more but I think worth it, so as I'm working in the area I am not worried about ripping it.

I also have an electrician coming out today to install outlet(s). I am not sure what is best yet. I have read so much about the different type of fuses and wires and amps and volts oh my. I don't know. So I will defer to him but as usual any advice is greatly appreciated. In the winter in Colorado I may not need AC but in the summer I will, so that is in my equation. But right now I just have

2 1000w lights
4 fans
1 air pump
(1 2500 BTC AC)

I'll upload some pics today as I spend my entire Saturday digging...

So things did not work out as planned. I hit a cement barrier. I had to move to a bed room. Below are some pictures. Let me know what I could do better or different and what I am missing. Particularly I am unsure how to vent the fan out of the window and also how to vent the can fan out too. Any ideas? The can filter has not been purchased yet. How big of one will I need?

see the last pic where your temp gauge is on that light move your inline fan and your filter over to the outside of that light, blow air thru both hoods and out the window

if your going to run any co2 put your filter and your inline fan high on the wall. take your inline fan and duct tape it to your filter so it sucks air thru the filter, then on the other sider of the inline fan duct it to the light with the temp gauge on it. make some straps on the wall almost to the ceiling. lift the whole inline fan and filter into those straps located near the ceiling. then blow the clean air out the window. Fish make sure your eyelets hooks your got in the ceiling are in studs not just in drywall.

The guys at the store and the directions in the box of the fan said to "PULL" air through the hoods and not push the air. I am going to run a duct from the end of the open hood out into the rest of the room. Then out of the window. I am not going to do CO2 this grow. Not quite ready for that to be honest :/

What are the advantages of pushing air through the hoods instead of the way it is currently setup?

I also need to hook up the atmospheric air pump and filter... How would I go about hooking that up to the window as well? The window is so small...

when you pull you have to make dam sure your seals on all your lights are air tight, one little bad seal vacuums the smell from you room out the window. when you push air blows out of the seals if they are broken into the room. the inline fan has to be ducted to the filter anyway thats what the filter does pulls air in cleans it and blows it out, in your case blows clean air thru two hood and out the window. if you must set it up to pull then duct the light with the temp gauge to the filter and keep it in the window. but it will be better less noise my way in the room.

they sell these co2 bags that last 5 months for less than 50 bucks. Co2 is needed to get some rock hard buds. With plenty of Co2 in the room your temps can run a little hotter and plants still love it just fine. with CO2 everything is bigger and better. I even co2 my veg. Cheap stuff

I just ordered two ExHale bags from the link the posted. I was worried about setting up even more equipment!!!! Thanks man!!! I appreciate all this so much. I am also gonna move my fan too. However I am confused now.

The fan I got was the 8" Can Fan which is rated for 940 CFM. This seems like A LOT just for my two hoods. I Need to vent 720 CFM from the whole grow room. Can I not just get a Can Filter, set it up, then run ducting from it to the open vent by by temp gauge? Or do I have to get ANOTHER $350 fan for the Can Filter?

Can I get a smaller fan for my hoods and then use my 8" 940 CFM can fan for venting my atmospheric air?

EDIT-

Doing more research and taking the filter into account I need a fan that can vent 958 CFM. Fuck

No you just need one duct it to the light by the temp gauge. in a perfect world where we all have endless money there may be a better fan set up but yours will work fine i buy them cheap 100 buck inline fans . my 8 inch can filter was only 250 bucks and that was too much.

now that you got some co2 on the way. you should consider how to get that filter and fan as high up off the ground as possible. two reasons you want to remove heat, heat is high up. also your co2 is heavy it will fall down like water to the floor and be sucked out if your filter is on the ground.

Running your fan blowing through the light keeps the fan from being exposed to the heat put off by the bulb.

Your inline fan cools itself with the air it moves.

I got my can filter up high. I also used insulated ducting off of the lights. I will likely put my CO2 bags sitting on the lights hoods. I am just about ready...

I have an electrician coming tomorrow to install a circuit breaker. What should I ask for?

I have to 1000 watt lights @ 9.4 amps
I have a 2 amp fan in the window
I will have three oscillating fans but they do not have amp or any info on them???
Small flat screen TV for noise for me.
Room Light...

Any suggestions or just ask him...

looks good to me. I think you will need two electrical outlets on a different breaker my outlets are 15 amp so I use one ballast per breaker. filter looks perfect.
