Yo dude, it’s a good idea. I like the idea. When trimming 5-8 lbs, it gets tricky. Don’t go away in a huff, everyone has an opinion. Show your grows. Build on your good idea. My wife personally would kill me. Years ago, my wife said,” that’s it with weed drying everywhere “. So I stealthy hid some in the attic. Cleaned when she wasn’t home. Cleaned up, thought I did a good job. Here comes her scraggly poodle, leaves stuck all over her. I now do everything in my shop. Didn’t help with her friends saying I was going to go to jail! Chin up bro, keep doing what your doing!

I have done nothing but deal with opinions on any of my posts that's fine. But when I'm sharing something valid and someone chooses to ridicule me it's like a bit of poison in the thread.
There's a difference between jokes and trying to be a bully ridiculing somebody.

As far as the technique goes. It does not make a mess. Zero mess. If one was to try it they might see that Wow having two hands free and a LARGE cola that is very very stable is next level. I'm not going to continue to hold people's hands on this.

If you're doing 5 to 8 pounds that's even worse you have so much to do. Why would you not want to have two hands free?
And it doesn't have to be in your kitchen. There are cupboards all over the place. And if you wanted to in your shop you could literally build a solid stand or wall mount.To that you attach 2 strips of wood on hinges that close like the cupboard doors.
It's just the pinch between the doors(wood) that you need to recreate.
Whether you want to sit or stand you can figure out a design that works.

I also do not wear gloves. The fact is you don't have to touch areas of the plant with resin.
This is the beauty. You get to hold on to the stem insert it in the door close it on the stem and then start trimming with two hands.
If you have to pull a leaf a little bit so that you can see the petiole. And I know that often times you can just stick your scissors in cuz you know where the petiolel is going to be. But that doesn't work all the time.I have so many leaves that are buried within the bud mass at weird angles. I still think it's better grabbing a leaf cutting it and dropping it using two hands.
Really the only time I get resin on my fingers is when I see a group of leaves like between buds and I just ripped them off.
Then the bud starts to stink and I get resin on my fingers. But I barely do that at this point It's all surgical.

In my defense, since I’m apparently the bully, I never criticized the idea I criticized your need for self validation by replying to your very own request, albeit sarcastically.

But as my wife says, albeit sarcastically, some sticks are bigger than others. What happens when the stick is too big to fit?

Dude I'm doing 12-in colas exactly how much bigger do you think you're going to get.
It crushes the stem perfectly if necessary.
The validation I hope for... well sure I'll take some praise but mostly it's to affirm that the idea is good.
And you're still sitting here belittling the fact that it's putting a stick between two doors. But who else has thought of anything remotely like it that actually works perfectly. Not you.

Surgeons woodworkers metal workers all use clamps to hold thing in place so they have two hands free. If that's not enough to shut you up please just stop

In my experience the leaf you are removing does not have resin going all the way to the tip of the leaf.
And even if there is a bit it's minimal.

Brother I don't know where you're going with this. If you're holding the bud with one hand how are you using your hand with the scissors to get into the bud to get those little leaves?
I just gently pull it down from the tip of the leaf and then I can see where I want the scissors to go.
I don't mess up the shape of the bud and I'm not touching any trichomes and there's no smell. But if you start picking off leaves then you notice instantly that it stinks that's because you broke trichomes.
If you got resin on your hand it's no longer on your bud. That's why the surgical method with a stable anchor is better.

Fyi I deconstruct a bud when I go to smoke it. I start at the bottom and pull off any remnants of leaves or tiny stems. Each section comes off in order. It's just not worth my time or frustration trying to go too crazy on the trim.
If I had a small plant with eight small colas then I might put more time into it but as you know a large grow is literally removing thousands and thousands of leaves.
My current grow has you've seen the post used schwazing and therefore the vast majority of all leaves I have are sugar leaves and very small fan leaves.

I'm sure there are countless people on this forum that are way better trimmers than I am.
The bud on the left I spent a little more time on because it's 12-in beauty. The bud on the right I'm experimenting with leaving more remnants of leaves and very small leaves.
Then I deconstruct the bud I'm going to smoke. Finishing the trim right before smoking.
