There are a lot of things involved. I set up a 4x4 room for less than$500. I have 3 plants in it. As maxigurl said being prepared and prevention is key. I made thise mistakes myself. Do not rush into it. You will appreciate the extra time spent now planning later on believe me.
Im no pro. On my first indoor grow. Its not at all like outside where you just swap some dirt out for good soil throw a seed in it and let it go. A 1 plant setup can probably be done cheaper. Part of the $ i spent was because i didnt do it right and wasnt prepared. This site taught me a lot. You should go on the left of screen click menu. And at the bottom will be search type in small room design or 1 plant grow room designs something will come back. Read a little. Its really not hard unless you jump in unprepared. Then it can be a total disaster
Welcome to the farm!
Congrats on the desire to grow your own medicine. Everyone started out like you, not knowing anything. I couldn't keep.a gold fish alive before I started growing my own meds. I did a ton of reading for about 6 months before I even bought anything. This way I had a slight idea what was in store. There should be some great start-up info in the stickies on this forum. 1 plant, 1 light, nutrients, odor eliminator, power, shouldn't run you more than 400 tops, should be able to do it for 200,
I'll keep that in mind! Thank you. It's going to be a while before I can afford to start. My other half and I, are trying to pay other things down before I take on my new hobby.I would do a few plants just in case something goes wrong and you loose one you can have others to keep you going .
Hi all!
I'm new to growing and need any and all help I can get. I'm looking for kind people in Oregon, who'd be willing to help me get started. From supplies to advice.
Thank you

Thank you again!
One thing I reflect upon often is when I first started growing about a year and a half ago ...... I underestimated the things that can go wrong and probably will go wrong as a novice without the knowledge of these things . You must have all the preventive measures for pests , molds , etc on deck and apply them and you won't have those issues . Don't underestimate rh and temperature . Know about every possible plant problem , deficiency , pest, etc and how to prevent and treat it .
Anyhow , growing is so much fun .
Good luck to you . Organic is better .
Be prepared with the necessary tools
And buy a couple of grow books as well.
