Hi, my Banana Kush is 7 (from seed) weeks old. Over the past few days (not all at once), I have cut 6 big leaves off and bent securely 4 big leaves. Here is what is left. According to seed company I ordered, B Kush is a bushy and compact plant...to me, it looks like there are still a few that need bent or possibly cut. I topped it 5 days ago. I see in one of photos that I have to fix hook on one of those leaves. Also, i have not watered since sunday (fed 1 cup). My soil meter indicates that about 6" of top soil is dry, and the rest is moist enough. The plant is in a 3 pound bag. When will I need to water it again, should I feed (FF Grow Big) and how many cups of water. Thank you.

Hello i grow most the time in 3gal both autos and photos just so i can fit 4 pots in my tent and i've been doing this for many years so i know what i'm doing most the time LOL. I've always lifted the pot dry and after waterings and got use to knowing the weight difference.

Next time try and fill that pot to the top with soil. A photoperiod needs all the soil it can get for good roots and growth. At the age of your plant i do remove the leaves touching soil allowing more air flow under the plant. I'd take off more large older fans at least 4 more all around and those laying in the soil. Your plant looks healthy right now, i use a different fert but have used grow big in the past. I begin feeding a teaspoon per 1/2gal at 6wks in my soil grows indoors. At this age i want to have soil moist for at least 3days afterwards, lift the pot.

Pics of photoperiods i'm growing now day 40 from seed. Topped and LST and defoiliated most of the old big fan leaf.

Thank you for your response and sharing your photos...very nice looking plants.

"Next time try and fill that pot to the top with soil. A photoperiod needs all the soil it can get for good roots and growth."

Could I add more soil at this point?

" At the age of your plant i do remove the leaves touching soil allowing more air flow under the plant. I'd take off more large older fans at least 4 more all around and those laying in the soil."

I plan to do some housekeeping today! I will cut the large, and soil-touching, leaves...and press them for a decoupage project I have planned.

Yes it does look bushy, but not excessive they may of trimmed but who knows? My pots are 7gal plastic for this grow cause i wanted them BIG and only 2 plants in the 3x3x6 tent with a 250watt light they are still 30" from the light at 75% brightness.
That picture shows me no training unless i can't see it was topped? Which makes them bushier. Further the distance from the light the more top growth. I want my branches to grow upwards now hence why i LST's are so low. Yes you could fill the pot more.

i trimmed 6 big leaves and re-bent 4 leaves…here are a few updated photos…it looks unbalanced to me. I will let it rest 2 days if I need anymore trimmed. I haven’t added soil yet…if i do that, there will be a few leaves touching soil. On the remaining stem where I topped it….will it grow more leaves there at the very top of branch?

I just found the net which was included with grow tent….it really holds leaves up. How does this look? They are higher than with metal hooks. I added 1.5” soil. Also, rose the light to 17” from top of plant…temperature stays about 25c, or 77f, and humidity a erages 50%, never over 57 or under 48.

You want them to grow into net and hold leaves/stems down then run em sideways to fill your area

please keep all your postings in one thread,
this way it’s easier for the members helping you, to find you and get updates,..

otherwise like i said in your other thread is you need to learn to water properly, otherwise issues will continue to appear and could get bad,..

Hi, I'm sorry. I will use this thread for now on. I haven't water since I cup on Sunday. I will test moistness of soil with my meter. When it is close to dry all around, I will weigh it. Once there is very little moisture and almost dry, can you tell me about how many cups of water I need? Its a 3 lb. cloth pot.

Thank you. My pH is slightly alkaline. I ordered pH down. I tested all areas for moisture with soil meter. It is 90% on Dry. I was not able to weigh the pot on the scale I have, though I picked it up several times to get a feel for with. I do not have a container big enough to place water in, to bottom water. So, I watered all around rim, as suggested by a Member. And I watered around plant slowly. My pot is elevated on a stove rack...there is no water on floor of grow tent and no water under rack. My question now is what is the best way to use the pH Down? Most readings on my pH meter, when in soil and in various places around plant, reads slightly near 8. I should have the pH Down sometime tomorrow.

I googled how to use, and got this answer: "To use pH down, you first need to determine the current pH of the solution (e.g., pool water, hydroponics nutrient solution) and then add pH down in small increments, testing the pH again after each addition until the desired pH is reached. It's crucial to follow the manufacturer's instructions and to avoid making large, sudden changes in pH, as this can be harmful to living organisms or plants.". QUESTION: So do you add it directly to soil, or mix in water?

Thank you, will one 8 oz cup be ample with a few drops, for all soil (3 lb. bag) to lower pH?
