Hi guys! I’ve been growing vegetable gardens for years and I’m trying a little different gardening now. Very excited about it and I’ve done loads of research, but apparently unsuccessfully. I’m growing in coco/perlite and I’m now thinking I’ve been wayyy underwatering. I’m fixing that now. However, there’s a couple issues that I just can’t pin down with research.
First: I’m 2 1/2 weeks in and a couple days ago I noticed some small holes on the new leaves of one plant. I can’t see any pests, so these spots are baffling me. It’s a Grape Ape. In the other pot is a Larry OG and it seems unaffected.
Second: Also on the Grape Ape are curled up edges on some of the leaves as seen in the picture. I’m thinking these were from light burn, so I’ve turned them down (2 Spider Farmer SF1000s in a 2x4 tent). I was having trouble with steady temps in the mid to upper 60’s (the tent is in my cool basement) but in the last week with help from heaters outside the tent and an AC Infinity humidifier, I’m holding steady at 75-78 degrees and 45-50% RH. The lights were at 240 ppfd at the plant tops when the leaves started to curl, but now that the girls are getting bigger I feel I ought to be turning the lights up a little. What do you guys think? Could those curling leaves be from underwatering in coco?

Welcome Weedly, looks like you got a pretty nice start. I don't grow in coco so I can't help you with the watering issue. When I see a young plant, compact, low to the ground with big broad leaves I think 'She's getting a lot of light'. That's not necessarily a totally bad thing since that's a desirable shape in a tent grow. I have a SF2000 and I have it at 27" above and 40%. When I get out to a month old I will increase a little.
Welcome to the Farm!

I'm in the same boat as you, Weedly. Just started growing meds last season after many years of growing veggies and assorted other plants. Those girls look pretty good to me. I'm 16 days post flip.

Those plants look good. As you're in veg they would prefer a bit higher humidity if that's possible. They like about 60% to 70% humidity during veg stage
