Hey!
I'm a middle aged Scandinavian expat living in Portugal since 7 years.

Weed made me move honestly but the climate is an upgrade definitely. The people living around here are mostly foreigners like me and I love it.

In my teens and early adulthood I got in trouble all the time with the law over weed, silly stuff. It's not exactly legal here either but it's decriminalized along with I believe all other drugs. So it's an interesting place to live in, lots of weird stuff happening, but I just think it's interesting.

I mostly grow outdoors but I have a little tent indoors too because as you know, growing is so much fun.

Hoping to find some cool growers and stoners to chat with.

See you on the boards!

Welcome to the farm, looking forward to seeing what you're growing. Here on the east coast USA we dream of having that Mediterranean growing season weather. Love to see what others are growing around the world.

This year I'm growing some white widows I got in Spain. Well, I have bought a lot of white widow seeds, and while they have been good I am chasing a dragon with those, I smoked it in the nineties and it was so amazing. I realize tolerance and age has happened and I am a completely different person today too, so I will probably never find the grail, but it's nice to have an obsession to lean on I suppose.
I tend to plant some autos too to get some early bud to smoke while I wait for the photos.

Waiting was never my strong side though, and I have a little tent

Welcome, I grow white widow every year outside, it’s a big hit. One of my friends who is a Marine loves it, said it’s great for his PTSD.

Thank you

I self medicate also, don't know what's wrong with me though, I'm scared of doctors (and other med professions). Probably scarred from my younger days in Scandinavia when I was in and out of youth detention equivalents and forced "summer camps" and stuff. I don't even like when store clerks act too professional and soul-less. If I'm a bit buzzed I don't care at all though. Hope you and your bud is doing good

Hey expat. Welcome

Ahhh Portugal, nice choice.
Been there a couple of times. Met some real nice people. The police there didn't even give me fines.

Happy growing

Welcome to the farm! I've considered moving to Portugal many times, and many people are leaving America these days. I'm growing White Widow right now and it's blooming, like yours. Mine stretched too much, but the buds look okay. I just moved it to a taller tent. I might change the light in that tent after harvest.

Finland is pretty. They also have an alive disco culture still. We need more finns here in Portugal. But they seem to be happy at home and are really patriotic. Maybe I would feel like that about Sweden if we had discos, I don't know, but I think I would.

Never been in one. I tried. Once I got in, maybe 20 feet. Guy came out of a booth and said get him out of here. Another time the doorman told me to wash my clothes. They really hated bikers. I don’t know why

I’ve heard Finland is the heavy metal capital of the world! Everybody listens to it! Must be being cooped up indoors for nine months out of the year!

Maybe they are, I know Sweden has quite a lot of metal bands like entombed, in flames, candle mass, Yngwie Malmsteen and so on, the band Europe came from there and I don't know all of them. The nomads too, and Hellacopters, spiritual beggars etc Norway is big in.. is it black metal? Burzum among others. I think it's the cold. I like it but I'm sort of stuck inte the eighties and nineties and don't absorb a lot of modern music.
I grew up on British and American classic metal, sabbath, DP, iron maiden, Danzig and stuff like that.

Finland I can't think of any bands.. yes, apocalyptica and Denmark.. DAD is danish and Aqua of course.

I think it was mostly popular to in the bars and clubs! I’m glad you didn’t say ABBA!

Do you guys grow Comfrey? I have been googling a bit to find the English word for it.

I am steering away from commercial nutrition more and more and now I only use it indoors. I have been tempted to use a pk+ outdoors last year but I didn't and just used Comfrey (in addition to the compost and bone meal breakdown).

Comfrey (Bocking 14 sterile variant) has long ass tap roots and sucks up nutrition from deeper levels and you cut them down and use it for your crops. Potent stuff too.

In the nineties I was all hydrophonics and tripart and chizz like that, heating up my entire house with HPS's in the basement up in Scandinavia. Those were the days. Electrical meter spinning so fast I could hear it when I tried to go to sleep.

Nostalgia. I hear the Enter Sandman riff in my head. What an awesome album that was.

Anyway.

Since then I have drifted more and more into a lifestyle where men wear sandals and drive electric vehicles. A world where both women and men reject razors. And we grow stuff effing organically.

Less yield, yes, compared to my old stack about 15% less. I can't tell any difference in potency. And I can just grow 15% more weed.

My soil seems to have a crazy amount of nitrogen already so I try to keep the nitrogen content of my compost down. I use the same soil indoors and it just puts out leaves for months without anything added.
