Noise is PRIORITY
Am I CRAZY considering doing a Rdwc !?!?

Any air pumps quieter than others ?? Same for the water pumps !???

Price isn’t a priority noise is

Thanks guys

There is more equipment needed with RDWC than dirt.

Absolute minimum is a pump. That can be pretty quiet, especially if you put it underwater in the res.
You will need fans, lights, maybe dehumidifier, maybe AC, that kinda stuff but should be the same as dirt.
I would say it is necessary to have an air pump with stones. Use a diaphragm pump like this

A chiller is optional, but may become necessary based on your situation. Those can certainly add some noise, so I would work to keep the lights off the plant sites and find a different way to keep temps down, like evaporative cooling.

When I run my RDWC it is far from silent. But it is not loud either.
