Hey everyone I’m new on this forum and growing and looking for a little insight. A quick rundown of what I have going on. I’ve decided to start my first grow with two types of AF. I chose Pineapple Express and Purple Kush, they are in a 2x4x6 grow tent with two full spectrum 300w led lights. Planted them in 5 gal fabric pots from the start which was in late January. I’m also using organic soil. All I’ve done thus far is water and use LST. Plants are now starting to flower and I have now begun to use flowering nutrients. My concern is neither of my plants grew very tall rather they are approx. 8” tall but super bushy, I’m now wondering if I need to defoliate to get light to some of the bud sites? Or will this shock and stunt them? Any help is appreciated.

At eight inches tall, the plants will need the energy stored in those leaves for their stretch. Leave them till you see what sites develop...

Indica’s are short swat plants, you’ve got to veg longer to get them taller, note for next time, also a 6500k fluorescent light really works for me in veg. These were started first week of December and are about 20” above the dirt in their bags...

i didn’t really have a choice as far as veg time because they’re autos but as short as they are and me tucking leaves it has become quite dense. I may just need to take some serious time to tie branches out of the way. However the next grow I do will be a photo. I just thought these would be easier to get my feet wet.

Since they are flowering and an auto flowering plant I think your making bud sites get more light by growing them sideways and they are not crowded so your good. I wouldn’t take any leaves off those imo

I have not used any miracle grow product. Just organic dirt bought from garden center. And started using fox farm nuts.

I pulled them out last night re tied and tried to spread them out. Also raised lights a little to see if that will get them to stretch Top photo is the purple kush and second is the Pineapple Express

Haha yeah it’s gorgeous it’s just a pic I found on the internet that I really like, reminded me of when my grandpa used to take me up to the rubicon trail and camping at loon lake. I haven’t been back to California in years.

A little update I’m about 40 days into flower buy the last few days I’ve been getting some serious yellowing of leaves, some are like a shade of pink too. Did I mess up with too many nutrients or is this normal. I’ll add some pics.
