So, should be just starting 3rd week of flowering. I decided to up my wattage a bit, so I'm now using the CMH and my blurple COBs, both backed off a bit. Here's how they're looking right now. Try not to laugh too hard at how ugly they are compared to pretty much everyone else's. =-/
Wondering if maybe I had a bit of a mix-up and "big girl" is actually Critical Purple? Guess it could just be a slightly different phenotype of GG, but, shit, it looks like an entirely different strain to my untrained eyes. Thoughts?
When one realizes he's got no fucking clue what he's doing with one grow tent, what's the logical course of action? Get a second tent going, of course. So, now, instead of using it to cook the shit outta the big girls, I'm putting my blurple COBs to better use in a 4x2x6 tent I just got around to putting together a few days ago. So, here's what I have as of today:
Here are my GG girls, about a month into flower. There's also a little high-CBD Bubblegum girl in there I'm growing for someone else. She's about 3 weeks old.
In my "veg tent," these girls are all 2-3 weeks above soil:
Little baby Amnesia:
Little baby White Widow x Big Bud:
And, finally, little baby Northern Lights, the runt of the litter so far:
Now that all the young plants are starting flower, I thought it would be prudent to switch up my arrangement. I didn't want to try to cram 6 autos in a 39x39 tent, especially with the size difference. Would have had to put a couple of crates under the young plants to get the canopies even and it just seemed like it would have been a clusterfuckish headache to deal with.
So, now the 2 GG girls are gonna finish flowering in the 4x2, under my blurple COBs; the 4 little ones will now be enjoying CMH rays while flowering out in the 39x39. Obviously, not ideal for the GG, in terms of spectral quality, but I'm hoping the fact that the blurple tent stays considerably cooler may help even out whatever final flower mass I stand to lose from finishing them under lesser lighting. My current philosophy seems to be: as long as I produce something, I'm ahead of the game. It's all just for personal use, so whatever I do manage to harvest puts me in a much better place than I was the day before.
So, here's what I have as of today. Lost count, but it should be just shy of day 60 for the big girls:
No real updates, just some low-grade eye candy to post. The little high-CBD Bubblegum girl I'm growing for my stepdad had a couple of lower fan leaves go yellow over a couple of days. Guessing she's gonna end up being a hungry girl. Otherwise, the little ones seem to be doing pretty well.
The cheap CMH kit I got several months ago came with a bulb that was literally no-name. Didn't really trust that to begin with, and maybe I'm imagining things, but I'd swear I've noticed some depreciation in output, so I just ordered a new bulb. If you're in the market for a cheap CMH, here's what I just ordered for :
I'd noticed some posts suggesting that a bit more blue spectrum in bloom will increase trichome production, so when I saw that it's 3800K and dirt cheap, it seemed like it's worth a shot. My big GG girls have literally no fucking frost at all. Not sure what's going on with that, but maybe a little more blue is worth trying on the little ones.
