Hey fellow out growers. This question is for outdoor growers in Northern Ontario. I currently have a 2.5ft cannabis plant in an 5 gallon air pot. I am hoping to get to 4ft by June 1st when planting outside. This strain doubles in height during flower in my indoor grow. The outdoor area is 15 gallons of soil in a 3x3x2 garden bed. My question is how tall might this plant get by the end of flower. I know there are varying factors to this question but on average what where peoples experiences in starting large plants at the beginning of the grow season and what where your end results. I am hoping to hit 15 ft or am I being unrealistic?

I'm thinking unrealistic. Plant height depends on many factors. So does parenting. I am a 65 year old avid SW Ontario outdoor gardener. I love mainlining my plants and grow bushy plants. 10 or more stalks 4' tall. I have gardened most of my life so it's natural for me. Growing outdoors can be as easy as sticking a plant in the garden and watering it along with the flowers. Or you could have 10 rain barrels for water. Compost piles, make your own natural fertilizers from garden wast and grow 100% in real living super soil. I have learned to do this over a few years growing since it became legal. It depends on how far North you are. You may want to grow Auto flowers rather than a late flowering variety. Crack the seed Last week of April and get them in the ground May 1 then watch them for frost like I do. This year I'm starting a White Widow Auto, A Pink Kush Auto a Laughing Buddha Not auto. The Autos will harvest early to mid August. Something like Buba Kush will harvest late September when it's still dry. Buddha will harvest early to mid October. It's raining season hear so Buddha can be a challenge. I have to cover this plant with a portable rain shelter greenhouse thing to keep the buds from getting rained on and dry so I don't end up with soaking wet moldy buds. For me it's worth the effort. For me I'm watering my gardens anyway why not grow a few nice plants as well.
If your into such an adventure check this out.

I have also grown a few years in potting soil and good old hardware store Pro-mix fertilizers from the hardware store and grew great plants as well. It's not hard. The hardest part is getting out of the plants way and letting it be.

I grew a 4ft PAE using organic amendments last summer and the plant turned out fine even though I neglect it somewhat. I also really screwed up my math the garden bed is 66 gallons. My question is regarding what height I might achieve with the assumption that my grow is properly cared and that I will be at a height of 4ft starting June 1st. I much more prefer indoor growing and what I am growing outdoors is an attempt trying to grow it as tall as I can.

If you can find some Dutch Passion seed, or other strain that grows very tall who knows how tall your plants may get. Any way you look at it your going to need to start them as early as you can under lights, then transplant into full sun. Sunup to sun down. Monster plants require full sun all day,
All the best in your adventure. Ron

I am using a strain called bubble gum which is suppose to be a medium to tall plant. I grew one of the seeds last year and she doubled in height during flower. She is at 3ft right now.

I'm extreme SW Ontario. Sarnia. I have to Mainline. I just have to grow 10 stalks 5' tall. It's just the way I'm wired I guess. Man, the Black Gorilla I grew last year is nice smoke. It's couch tater weed. So is Bubba Kush and of course Green Thai with it's light green little killer buds all trimmed up dried and cured to perfection.
I was Visiting friend in Gibson Landing years ago and he had a gagger of Laughing Buddha. This I have wanted to grow for years. Good old Barneys Farms Laughing Buddha. It took me 2 years to find the seed. I started Laughing Buddha 2 weeks ago under Barnyard style LEDs indoors. Transplanted at 7 days old outside into a big pot a few days ago. Just brought her indoors for the night as we may get frost. I'm sure I will be outside doing the Mainline thing as it begins taking hold. Green Thai last summer.

Though I would make a quick update on my original post and on my progression so far. Currently sitting at 51 inches tall as of today June 17th. Planted her outdoors in May 22 which was an absolute mistake. Night lows of 1C or 3C and day time of 11C to 17C with 5 nights of dealing with frost and just recently killed off a massive ant colony and after all of that she seems to be on her way back from certain doom. I wish I would have taken pictures of those events but its the last thing you are thinking about when trying to keep the plant alive. I will taken pictures weekly for now on. I'm curious if we will make to the 15 feet by the end of harvest.
