Be careful homie; manufacturers say all kinds of shit that is NEVER accurate. Don't listen to them; Listen to the people here that have been around the block a few times. Ph range for hydro (which coco/soil-less is a form of) should be 5.8-6.2 early and 5.9-6.3 late (my actual #'s I run in rockwool). Here's what AI says:

When growing in coco coir, the optimal pH range for your nutrient solution is:
  • 5.7 to 6.0 during the vegetative stage
  • 5.8 to 6.2 during the flowering stage
This slightly acidic range ensures that nutrients like calcium, magnesium, and iron remain available to the plants.

Pro tips:
  • 5.8 is a good sweet spot for most of the grow.
  • Letting the pH drift slightly within this range (e.g., 5.7–6.1) helps different nutrients stay available rather than locking out. [my highlight]
  • Always calibrate your pH meter regularly and check runoff occasionally to make sure the root zone isn’t drifting too far out of range.

Me again:

If higher numbers are working for you, then by all means; run with them. Keep in mind though; you could possibly be running better.

I weigh Lbs & Ozs instead of Ozs & grams

They are not pure coco. They have ther additives in them that buffer. Bat guano, lobster shells worm castings pearlite and a bunch of other stuff. Did you check out what is in coco loco and the Mothers Coco or whatever the name of the one he has? Though I am still new to this. Have you grown in this medium and run lower ph levels? I am all for learning and making for a better grow. Here is a pic of my second grow. I am at week 6 autoflower sour diesel

Looks like your light is too intense to me!

Turn it down and don’t try and tinker too much!

Plants hate a tinkerer ha ha ha.

Thank you guys for the knowledge I really appreciate it it’s helped me out a lot I’ve got a lot more confidence going into my next run also with foliar is it worth doing or is calmag better

Personally, I don't like to spray anything on my plants, especially indoors. Feed the plants through their root system including cal-mag.

Mother Earth Coco only has two mixes that I know of - a 70/30 mix (coco & perlite) and pure coco; both are inert and should be treated as hydro.

Coco Loco is a soil potting mix (only 50-60% coco) that is amended with coco. It should be treated as soil and is mostly good for seedlings. It is only 0.50-0.15-0.20 not nearly enough feed for a full grow. It will run a higher ph bc of the soil in it. Most people on here don't even need to worry about PH when growing in soil, as the soil acts as a natural buffer.

I have not grown in either of those. I am now growing in pure coco for the 1st time. Had a rough start, but they are now getting their legs. I'm treating it like I do rockwool

Florida Mike's 25/26 Indoor Rockwool Grow 9-1-25

9-1-25 10:35 pm And so it begins. Seeds sewn directly in 1.5" Rockwool starter cubes, Pre-soaked with 5.6 ph, RO water, at 4:20 am, Sept 1, 2025 (Just deep enuf to be able to cover ~ 3/8") These will go into Solo Cups for a small pheno hunt, plus X-mas...

I'm curious what other Coco Loco users have to say. I may be completely fos....

I didn’t read the bag for the Mother Earth. I guess it is more like growing in pure coco. He did say he was only using cal mag once a week. I have never grown in pure coco but read you should use cal mag every time you water in coco.

My last grow was in compost soil and it did ok but I decided to try Coco Loco and this grow is doing much better. I did get a ppm of 3500 and noticed some rust spots on a few leaves. I flushed the soil until it came down below 1000 and started back with a light feeding and they came right back and doing good since flushing

Wait a sec... are you in mother earth or coco loco? There is a big difference...

Anything above 1800-2000 you'll start seeing burnt tips. I usually run 1200-1400. Right now I'm giving my seedlings 800
