Nute burn after Promix transplant?

Hi guys,

I have my plants (about 6-8 inches high) in veg mode. I'd finally gotten "good" with the store branded A+B nutes, to where my plants were looking green and healthy. At first I was getting yellowing, and burning. I was not able to tell what, but I stabilized things with experience (this is my first grow).

Anyhow, translated into bigger pots 2 days ago. I'm sure I could have done a better job with the transplants, but I imagine they would survive. Back into fresh promix. I wasn't sure if they starter ferts were OK, so I gave them 1/4 strength nutes (smaller quantity also). I did this because they were not looking great, but I think that might have been transplant shock or something (not familiar to me). Maybe that was normal.

I have 2 sized pots (1 and 2 gal). The plants in the 2 gal pots are looking better than those in the 1 gal pots - they all received the same quantity of nutes. I think the small potted ones need a flush. Some leaves are turning crispy and yellower (I think).

Hard to tell for sure, because of my previous problems, the plants had some yellow/burn from earlier at the bottom... So hard to diagnose now. But I can say they are a little droopy, and crispy.

Transplant shock (2 days now), or over nutes? Should I wait it out, or flush? Don't want to introduce yet another variable. Also, my temps dropped, because with the larger pots, I had to place the plants lower in my cabinet, so they are a little farther from the light than before. Their temps went from 80 to 73.

Pics would be nice?

Anyhow, I'm not to familiar with promix but if it already has nutes then your burning your girls, if you using full strength nutes for the first week or two after transplant your probably burning them too.

I've done several transplants now and this is how I do it with a 100% success. I waster my soil (FFHF) a bit with some Thirivealive B-1 then sprinkle in some mykos on the bottom then back fill the rest of the way and water. For the first week or two I only give them the B-1, then I'll intorduce the nutes but only at 1/2 half strenght for the first week of nutes. After that it's full on :)

I'll add pics in a couple of minutes, but I'm concerned that people will confused my old symptoms with my new ones.. I've having a hard time telling them apart myself, other than the crispyness.

Additionally I use Botanicare Liquid Karma supplement from seedling to flower and I like it a lot!

malachii, trust me, get some b-1and your babies will be fine. I got that info from an experienced grower when I had some clones that were all but dead and this is how they look now. Just ph your water correctly and add the b-1 and your babes should recover fine.

Here's my pics. Sorry for the delay, but work got in the way of my hobby. Damn it. I should note that the images are over-green - that's just my camera I think.

The first image shows my 4 better plants, which I placed into my larger 2 gallon air pots. The front two are OK as you can see (I think). The rear left one has burns/deficiencies from earlier at the bottom. The top isn't bad. The top right is looking a little droopy, and the middle-left leaf is oddly splotched. But it's overall not terribly (the top is missing from the image, sorry).

The second image displays one of the suffering plants in the smaller pots. You can see the curling, crispy leaf. I think that's nute burn.

So should I flush? If so, do I do it for the larger-potted plants, and also the smaller-potted plants (that are worse-off). I don't want to cause them more stress. I'm leaning towards flushing the smaller ones only since they are in bad shape.

p.s. Does this look like nute burn? If so, what's the telling sign for you?

Two new pics as I noticed some things with a couple of my better plants. The blue circles indicate what I believe to be old symptoms from my newb-ness, while the red circles indicate problems with the recent transplant/possible nute burn.

I kind of screwed up the first image sorry. But look at the visible image (bottom right). You can see an old symptom of "desintegrating leaves". No idea what that is. Looks like a pest, but it's the only plant that has it, and it started during my 93 degree phase if that matters. The new symptom is the blotches.

The second image has two new symptoms. Blotches like the other plant, and light coloured outer leaves. In all cases, my plants are a "little droopy" compared to others, some more than others.

I PH'ed my water to 6.0 before feeding them, but crap, the water I used to mix the pro-mix was tap water at 7.8. But to some extent Promix buffers this a lot. I don't think promix plants suffer from PH as much as other mediums because of the lime (or other things). At least that's what people tell me.

While it is true that promix will help buffer your pH levels, it's important to add an additional 4 cups of dolomitic lime to each 3.8 cu.ft. bale as the limited lime straight out of the bag won't last too long. I'm guessing you pH is out of whack enough to stop the nutrient uptake by the roots. They are way too light in color. In promix, your pH should NEVER, EVER be out of the 6.2-6.3 range. You are and that's why you are experiencing problems.....

Are you talking about the PH of the runoff, or the nute solution I put in? Because when I give nutes I try to be between 6 to 6.5 (I use drops, so about 6.25, but hard to be that exact). I forgot to do that when transplanting though. So that's a big problem.

p.s. The plants are pale, but not as pale as those pictures make them out to be. I used flash with those photos, and it makes them come out light for me anyhow.

p.p.s. I should have mentioned that at first I was not PH'ing my water. I listened to the sales pitch which said you didn't have to bother with promix. I was struggling a lot earlier, so bought some drops, and have been making small adjustments down to the 6.0-6.5 range the last 3 feedings, and it really helped, other than just now when transplanting into fresh promix, and possibly over-nuting.

Guys, I just noticed something with one of my plants. I'm in VEG (24 hours), but this looks like a male (!?). First grow, so no basis of comparison. Hope you can help.

Here's a pic of the plant in question, and another of my other plants. What's going on here? Yes my plants have been 'stressed', but are in veg.

What should I do now?

p.s. I added a pic at the end of what I believe is a female plant (!?). I'm not sure again, since i'm new to this but that looks like female hairs to me. What's going on? I've been on 24 hours light a a few weeks now. Only interruption was when I had somebody in my office for work, and I wanted to reduce light leakage, so I turned off the HPS, and turned on 2 CFLs in my closet grow to reduce light leakage, for 4 hours. Seems ok to me. Like a cloudy day.
