Hi Folks,

I recently decided that because growing for personal use has become legal in my neck of the woods and purchasing was busting my budget I would renew an old hobby, growing cannabis. I can't say I'm new to growing, however, the first lesson I experienced is that I should forget about everything I ever thought I knew about growing in the past. What a surprise! It's a whole new world now.

I'm looking forward to learning more and enjoying the experience along the way. I have been pretty much been winging it and searching the internet for answers and quickly learning that similar issues are caused by different problems. I certainly made my fair share of mistakes and over corrections along the way. Understanding nutrients and the various methods of monitoring them can make your head hurt. I think I'm nearing the end of my first grow but then again maybe not, I've never done this before.

My opinion is if you never try you never learn. I'm trying hard but wonder how much I'm learning.

Welcome! There’s a lot of old dogs here! Post some pictures and will take a look and see how hard you are trying, and how much you are learning! And I am going to take a wild guess, and say, Ohio! Take it easy!

Thank you for the welcome. Fair enough on photos. Feel free to comment, criticize, inform and even laugh out loud. It's all good and I am here to learn. Not Ohio, NY.

These are the most recent photos of my first attempt. It's Sour Diesel autos at week 8. I burnt them at week 6 with a nute adjustment but I think it was actually a VPD issue, my bad. While started at the same time plant 2 has been lagging behind except that it was the first out of the ground. I had pH issues then. I've recently been trying different nute mix and adjusting watering to address new issues and the results. I expect the plant abuse folks to be knocking on my door.

I keep a daily log of nute amounts, watering, ppm, us/cm and VPD so I can remember the last thing I did and what to not do in my next grow. If needed.

Thank you for your interest.

Thank you, guess I'm doing something right after all. I appreciate your comment. Now if I can just get them to the finish line.

Thank you, hazy evenings are a great thing to look forward to. I still have a lot to learn. However, I am extremely encouraged by the kind words of you folks. Thank you all.

Nope no longer required. When I think back on the work, strategy and tactics required to accomplish what's going on in a tent sitting in my house 10 feet away that is now legal I am blown away. If I ever had a plant look like what I have now back then I would have died of a heart attack right then and there. Thanks for commenting and it's nice to know that there were gal gorilla farmers out there. The tent is a Vivoson 3 x 3 by the way.

Thanks, "happy growing" indeed. I would have been happy if I didn't manage to kill them. I'm not only happy but thrilled and amazed as well. It's also comforting to know that there is a friendly place like this to get help when I screw up.

Same size as the one I have. I purchased a Smart Grow System Kit by Vivosun that included fans, controller, light, filters, etc. and online WiFi App to my phone. The light is a 200w VSA200SE it puts out quite a bit of heat, more then I expected. In as much as I had no idea of what I needed the Kit seemed like the best way to get started. So I jumped into the deep end of the pool head first and went for it. I'm happy with everything. It's the learning how to use it, that's the hard part.

Thank you for the welcome. "we are almost all old on here" lol I wonder why it's that way? Perhaps the younger folk are to busy and in a hurry.. Personally, I don't get in a hurry over anything any more, unless I accidentally set myself on fire...
