99% of commercial soils are not 'hot'. The companies don't make them that way on purpose because they don't feel like being sued for lost crops.
What people are calling 'hot' is really closer to 'living soil'. what makes it so hot is when oustide nutes are added.

Usually"HOT" soil is Soil that's not completely broke down it's PHYSICALLY HOT to the touch my soil mix is from seed to harvest NO PROBLEMS with burning anything on this end and have had the same mix for awhile but I usually start my beans in rapid rooters and a terririuam on 24 hr cycle with a Nextlight Core about 2 ft above and I ALWAYS use Mycorrhizal fungi at planting I WON'T plant without it!

I mix my own Soil the trick is to let it sit a week or so after amending and to make sure your compost is COMPLETELY FINISHED or the safer route worm castings in my opinion but I use both GOOD finished compost and worm castings some of them soils have Chicken shit in it you want HOT use that I myself only use Fish compost Oly Mountain

No, you have not been led astray. As a matter of fact, there is a discussion concerning enzymes and organics vs non in another thread right now.
Enzymes are very good. Personally, I would grow my own microbes and just add some enzymes from the plant store. I think I saw a recipe for that in here somewhere.

You're doing fine. The biggest two mistakes new growers make is not asking for help and the other is overdoing everything.
Take your time and do some reading here. There is so much good info.

Some threads may look like big arguments, but some of us learn that way and by the time the thread works out, the subject has been clarified one way or another.
Relax and have fun growing with us!

Price:$7.69
Sure finding out... lol

Wonder if this will do anything...
I'm almost inclined to try this under the canopy in the center, then keep my Agromax t5's running above the canopy. Nail them buds from all directions.

MY FIRST ORGANIC GROW [seeds popped 6/13/21, planted 6/14/21]

Four Blue Amnesia Autoflowers. 2 planted in FFOF soil, 2 planted in (Mixed) soil. All four fortified with Humic acid granules, Dr. Earth Flower Girl, and of course a hefty dose of Perlite. Fertilizing with Kelp Meal and Barley Flour, with powdered Aloe Vera gel and Silica Blast > (these two mixed in with every watering). Note the shriveled one on the lower right. It was the slowest of the 3 to sprout. Now it's "cringing", possible because of something in the soil - but I'm going to give it a chance to live. If it dies or languishes, I'll replace it with a Lowryder seed.

Any suggestions, RE: Fertilizing with an Organic Grow? I'm new at this.

UPDATE July 7th, 2021

Moving right along 22 days from seed.

NOTE: the two on the Left are potted in FFOF soil. Two on the Right are in a Mix: Primarily Miracle-Gro African Violet soil mix (plus scraps of other types of soil, just dribs & drabs). Both have identical soil amendments added. Dr. Earths Flower Girl bloom booster, Down To Earth brand Humic/Fulvic Acid granules, & Perlite (organic).

Calyxes begin to form on all but the Sickly one. Day 22 from seed.

BLUE AMNESIA AUTOFLOWER (all)

I would consider taking some of those big fans on the shorter plants, and tucking them down some, so those buds underneath can pop their heads though and get some sunlight. I don't remove anything from these types of plants, but I do think it's important that any of the tops (below) that can possibly see the light of day, are in fact, seeing the light of day.

Just kinda push the fan leaves down a bit, then take the underlying sprout, and give it a pigeonhole to start doing it's thing. It will re-orient itself.

The ones on the left are looking mighty impressive. The one on the front right, I might consider pulling out and looking it over really well, make sure there's nothing wrong with it. looks like some issue going on there, make sure there's no bugs or anything on it, and maybe consider doing a flush or something...

I cant say forr sure, looks like potassium is somehow involved in what's going on. Perhaps it's being blocked, or excess, difficult to say.

This is the typical stage that I begin giving some Gibberellin to promote stem elongation, foliars of Salicylic acid and GABA. I'm still working on my understanding of hormones and how they effect the plant at this stage, but it's certainly an interest of mine.

If you decide to give that front right one a flush, perhaps you could obtain some more information to guide the process. checking the ph of the run off and it's ppm. Most everything appears in the old growth, so it's a real judgement call at this point, IMO. But certainly, something is different from the others.

Edit: scrolling back, looks like it really is snapping out of it some, so maybe it really is on the road to recovery after all.

I don't 'flush' my plants. The front right one was Weak as a popped seed, from the beginning. I'm just leaving it alone, to see if it develops. If it fails, 3 is enough for this grow. I had thought about pulling it & replacing it with a different strain when it was only a few days old, but - nahhh.

UPDATE July 18th. Blue Amnesia Autoflower (34 days from seed)

OK here we go. No issues so far. The initial Burn on one (RF) seems to have disappeared and wouldn't you know it: It's outpaced the other three as of today, as far as height and number of buds go. I planted these on June 14th so they're only 34 days old. This is my first Organic grow and I have not fertilized them in weeks...just a taste of Blackstrap Molasses (2 tsp), a dash (1/8th tsp) of powdered Aloe Vera Gel /gallon and 2 ml. of Silica Blast, in the regular (tap) water. I let the tap water sit, open, for 24 hours to allow some of the City Water chlorine etc, to dissipate.

ON my next grow, I may take these two soils and combine them (Miracle Grow African Violet (right side) and Fox Farm Ocean Forest (left side), I dunno. Maybe.

UPDATE July 26th (42 days from seed)

Well I had to Ad-Lib a pedestal for the two on the Left (in FFOF soil), to somewhat even out the canopy. The two on the Right (in Miracle Gro African Violet soil) are so tall & spindly, they look like a different strain...but no worries there...lotsa bud sites growing on both.

The addition of (2 ml./gal) Silica Blast has resulted in very strong stems. No problem, with support for the buds - as these plants are not known to be heavy Yielders anyway. I am impressed with the speed of these toward maturity - at least so far.

UPDATE AUGUST 2ND 49 days from seed

Bud size, density and smell increasing. These Blue Amnesia Autoflowers are supposed to mature quickly, and are not known to be heavy Yielders. We'll see.

I just got a new 5G cell phone from Verizon. Setup was a dang nightmare; They sent me the phone in a box...that's it. No charger, no manual, nothing else. Anyway, after weeping and gnashing my teeth for hours, I have some Basic functions working. My first experience with an Android. Customer Service was only interested in Upselling me. I call them: "Customer No-Service". Apple software will not work on an Android; WATCH OUT, if you transfer data from your old Apple Iphone. Word to the Wise...

I have not fertilized these, save for some Blackstrap Molasses (1 tbsp/gallon), in a month. I'm not sure if I've overfed or underfed them; I believe the burnt leaf tips are from being too close to the light, but of course I could be wrong. I was playing with the YoYos and it was only about 14" away for a few days. I have since moved them back up to about 24 in. from the tops.

Hi all. I'm doing an Organic Grow of four Blue Amnesia Autos, and right away I ran into a problem. I've bought Kelp Meal, powdered Aloe Vera Gel, and several other things including this ("Organic Barley Flour"). Trouble is, it does not say whether or not it's "Malted", or partially sprouted, prior to Grinding. The difference being, that "Malted" barley releases the desirable enzymes. I do not know, but the way it was explained to me, it makes a world of difference. Does anyone know: If I use this as Top Dressing (along with Kelp meal), will it work? Or will it create a sticky Mess & ruin my Grow?
