I live near Portland and have been growing in my backyard for about six years now. October is pretty much the kiss of death here...

Whatever strains you go with make sure you can get them to finish before October ends (I shoot for as early in Oct as possible). Otherwise you'll end up with a moldy mess.

I've switched to autos for this reason. I can get two crops in before the October cold-wet begins. And even then, come October 1st, if i still have plants that haven't finished, I start getting a little freaked out...
