Outdoor Herb Journal

Thanks for the input dudes, I'm gonna keep looking into. I read that sand thing also, I was thinking of doing that with a combo of straw or something on top like sun said but that's after I get rid of these fucks. Would love some og bio war but it's pricey...

For fungus gnats you are going to want to use a BTi, Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis. It is generally used for killing mosquito larvae, but kills fungus gnat larvae as well. It is a biological, so only kills these certain larvae and you don't have to worry about killing bees and stuff. It is a must in outdoor gardening when using a mulch layer. Good luck, this stuff woks easy peasy. There is a Bt, make sure you get BTi.

This is what I use. Drops in water. This picture is of a HUGE bottle. You will only need like 10-15 drops, like eye dropper drops, a grow season. I use 1 drop in 5 gallons of water and water my 4 plants with it about every other week.

I got fungus gnats too - hate those bastards almost as much as spider mites.
I tried sand, mulch, even a thick layer of diatomaceous earth (helped quite a bit but very messy). Right now, I keep small fan blowing across the top of the pot. Little bastards can't land and keeps the topsoil dry. Works great for the moms & dads inside but not in the greenhouse.
I got some mosquito dunks here for my pond - pack says it has BTi in them.
Think I'll drop one in the rain barrel in the greenhouse. Ladies will get a dose every time I water.
Fingers crossed!!

Sprayed em all down with neem oil hopefully that gets rid of some the pests.. found a caterpillar munching on some leaves, smacked it off and was like not in my house! Anybody use neem as a soil drench? Had to replace brakes on my wife's car so I can't buy any bti and such related product ATM safety first though!

1/4 inch of sand on top will kill gnats and larva.

DO NOT use neem oil for soil drench! I already tried - damn near killed all my plants. Mucks up the soil and coats the roots so they can't absorb anything.

we had a bad tick outbreak, so I spread some tick and insect killer granules. little did I know that the green grass is where the moths stay in the heat of the day. Had moths flopping around dying . no caterpillars since I started to treat the lawn.

if you found one caterpillar, there are more.

Evening farmers, been really busy with life as always but I was doing some work in the garden and thought I'd share some photos of how they've grown. All have been fed with worm cast tea this morning and sprayed with neem the previous night. First is the confirmed women, Top left; Trip7...has a very appereant Og smell but the structure is definitely not Og which I'm glad lol....Top right; Mystery seed...she's short and has pretty tight mode spacing with a sweet smell almost like coffee with cotton candy...Bottom left Earth Og not much to say about her, recognizable Og smell and lanky branching and thin long leaves...first time growing a Og dominant strain....Bottom right is Frosty the snowman...topped once and accidentally topped one the new main branches, also left the bottom grow out so now it has a few tops lol. Grown this strain twice and loved so i popped one for this outdoor season and popped two more later....All lst'd 'cept the frosty
