ok. I have a problem with the smell of my rooms in my basement. a few people including a ups driver and my buddy that's a deputy has asked about it. I'm perfectly legal I just dont like people knowing my business. dont like nosey people at all. but I've read ozone generators help alot but can you run them in a room full of plants for about 10 minutes once a week and would it take the smell off the bud or would it just kill the plants? I've seen the ones that go inline the vents for the lights that I will probably end up getting here soon. thanks

Ozone is not good for you. However, you can position an ozone generator near or connected to the intake of the exhaust duct or input of a cool tube. This will help to deodorize the hot exhaust air.

we have two big charcoal filters in the rooms already. I'm going to end up moving my rooms into a barn on a different property eventually. but I will try and replace the filters we have already again. there about 6 months old

galvatron. does the generator have to be at the end of the light circuit or can it be at the beginning? and would it have to stay for the duration the lights are on as with the blowers? or could I just run it for about an hour every night

With properly sized quality carbon filters and correct negative pressure in the room there should be no smell escaping. Have you checked for leaks in ducts or connections?

Also the filters fail in high humidity.

Ozone gen will kill your plants, and will also mess you up from repeated exposure?

If your already being noticed, I would not take shortcuts (i.e. ozone gen). We all use carbon scrubbers for a reason.

I own an ozone generator. Only time I use it is after I process a clients harvest to kill any bad shit that may be along for the ride. I seal my jeep up, and let it run for 10hrs in the back with all my stuff.

An Ozone generator running for an hour a week won't help in any way other than to damage your plants and yourself if you spend too much time in it. Ozone is just a super oxidizer, so as soon as the Ozone dissipates, the oxidizing effects do as well. Charcoal or down the toilet is best.

ok. I did do ther generator in my garage to sr how well it would work and it definently made it smell different. I let it run fir an hour and didn't go back in fir 3 hrs. I was going to run the generator in the rooms after i pull all the girls outs and harvest to kill off everything in there. the humidity I have set at 50 percent. I'm Pau sure the room I'd sealed up good. I'll check more after this run. probably replace my carbon scrubbers also. they've been non stop since I bought them 6 to 8 months ago.

I suggest you google what ozone gens do and how they disrupt oxygen in the air before you kill all your plants and or make your household ill.

I googled them. alot of people said they run then in the rooms but i thought it kills plants. that's why I figured I'd ask on he before I used it in my room.

A proper ventilation setup is all that is needed. Commercial ops are running thousands of plants inside closed areas with no odor escaping into the area. If you’ve got odor escaping then you need to fix your setup.

Back in the day, I ran an ozone generator in the room. It didn't kill me or my plants. That doesn't mean that it is a good thing!! We know better now. I attached a 6 inch duct to the output of the generator. The other end of the duct is attached to the input to the cool tube. The output of the cool tube is connected to the exhaust fan. So, room air goes through the ozone generator, then through the cool tube, then exhaust fan and blown OUTSIDE the building. It creates negative pressure in the room. It works very well and I don't detect ozone in the room. However, I think a carbon scrubber is probably better.

ya. I seen the ozone generators that go in the ducts. was going to try one of those and vent it outside the house. see if that helps but I will try changing out my scrubbers first

I used ozone generators for years. It’s more of a masking odor, so all that happened it my place smelled like ozone and weed not just weed. And it’s also noticeable, like what’s that smell noticeable. And health stuff aside, it will oxidize the plants themselves, doing its job right it will make them not smell. Making you product sub par. Like the people say. Carbon scrubber
