Hey all. My again with more noob questions.

I am having persistent issues with my seedlings, I popped 4 seeds, 2 never really did anything so binned them, but these 2 looked fine at first but now are looking rather poor. This seems to be a issue for me every time.

I am not over or under watering, temps are good etc, water is PH'd every watering etc.

What's the media? How often and how much are you watering? Are there a lot of drainage holes in your pots? How much and how often are you feeding? What light are you running? Dimmer level? How high above plants?

Thanks

Medium is currently seedling soil, which is supposed to have enough ferts for 4 weeks

Pots have 6 or 8 holes.

I water when pots feel light and water lightly, not currently adding any extra ferts.

These plants are currently is a seedling tray under 30w of led

How many days between waterings? How many inches between the light and the plants?

Your soil is too rich for seedlings. I have bagged seedling soil and it does not have any ferts in it.

The lower leaves look like it’s being overwatered. Fill one of your pots with dry soil and compare the two different weights. Water again when it feels like that, add enough water to saturate the soil without water logging it, repeat. It can still be saved

It's says for seedlings on it. I know some are unfertilised but this one is lightly.

Usually 2 but I go more by pot weight and how the soil feels.

Lights are 6-8in above but will check.

Oh OK well i guess you'll know if the plant recovers. Yes and i second the light distance also. I tell ya these new LED lights can reek havoc on young seedling. Best to have it way high if it's a powerful light. Or just use a CFL to start them

I see plants flowering in the background of some of the pictures. Are these seedlings in the same tent as the flowering plants? What is the light schedule and intensity?

Why is the water pH being adjusted?

What is the humidity?

My guess -- without better information -- is the plant isn't getting enough nutrients, which could explain the lower-leaf necrosis.

My guess is that they're over-lit and over-watered. If they were mine, I'd move the light up to at least 18 inches above the tops, and I'd let them dry back until I saw droop and then water immediately.

Yeah that's my main grow tent, I moved them there for pics as lighting is better.

PH is adjusted to 6, mostly just because, and the ferts drop the pH quite a bit.

I keep RH at around 60 for veg.

Yeah it could be ferts, I try and limit them in the beginning but I will add more to the next watering and see what happens.

Okay. Understood.

So, you are adding nutrients. What type are you using?

That's about right for seedlings. It could be a bit higher, though.

Sounds like a good plan.

ive been there , about 2 years ago i did what you are doing, couldnt work out why i couldnt get these things to grow, and that seedling soil probably has a lot of peat in it which holds onto a lot of water, and those plastic pots are about as useful as tits on a snake , they have a flat bottom and no airflow , and just hold onto water....then you add to that enthusiastic growers that just add a few drops here and there, and it all builds up into a stinking mess.
i started using orchid pots for my seedlings and filled them with coco , which didnt work either , i bought a bag of orchid mix and mixed that with the coco and it was perfect, i think i put a pot of worm castings in there as well ..airflow seems to be as important as water

I am for my other plants, I use biobizz grow and bloom, a seaweed based booster and I have a lot of salts here which I can use to add individual nutes if needed ( I use these in my planted aquariums)

Yeah I keep them at 90-100% for the first week or so and then drop it.

Yes I'm not a fan of the plastic pots either, I usually use the cardboard style ones to start them and they go I to fabric pots when I transplant.

No peat in the soil, it's not allowed to be sold in my part of the world, but I am going to pick up some ready made cannabis soil for the next lot

Thanks all.
