Ph dropping very low fast

Rdwc 4 pot day 28 flower God father og advanced nutrients ppm 1000 Quick one what can make my ph go down from 5.8 to 4.9 in 12 hrs even when adding more ph down this is my second grow first one was great but this one ph constantly going very low is it a strain thing I mean the plant doing it to get more nutrients or something else I’m baffled changed res water couple of times still dropping plz any advice

Sorry haven'tdone hydro in awhile but 1000 ppm at week 4 seems a little low. Like maybe the bottom of the range? At that stage she will be feeding heavily on positively charged elements like K, Ca, Mg and even possibly a little heavy on Ammonium. As the plant takes them up, it leaves more negatively charged elements like P, Sulfur, Copper, Molybdenum and possibly Nitrate which would lower the solution pH. So the combination of heavy feeding and a lower ppm might possibly cause the pH to consistently drop.

But like I said, it's been awhile. I'll let those who have more current experience take it from here. I hope that was a little helpful.

Thanks for reply just added 10lt of 1100 ppm nutes to tank it’s at 1110 now so will keep eye on it and let you know I’ve been going off this chart

Now I can only assume.

I assume you had a stable system running at this 1000ppm prior to the drops your seeing.

I will assume this would be 2ec.

When I change a substantial amount of water , like say all my 40 gallons and I do monitor my numbers .
Kind of ocd.
I will see ph drops .5 every 12hrs for couple days and then stops completely.

I don’t run co2 , so en ec1.6-1.8 would be about as high as I would ever go.

1.4 ec is a balancing number ( ec and ph) for me at this present time.

So if I was to see my ph drop like you and it was once stable ?
I would think I have something in my roots.

Like a mound of roots that look to have some browning inside.
I would massage this brown area underwater that it’s in and then maybe add more beneficials to fight the problem.

Now if your system has never been stable, ( stable is were ph stays the same and ec too. )
I would think your ec is too high.

Glad to have your input. Thanks for that. Man I must have been really pushing things back in my hydro days or I'm remembering wrong....which is highly likely. Lol I had a SOG set up so strictly flowering in my tent. But IIRC my ec was like 2.7 (1800 ppm maybe?) but I was also running CO2. It was a long time ago so who knows....
