Sooooo, if pen tests are generally the same after 5 feedings, just look at pH.? I purchased the 200$ pen for ppm,pH,ec, and every feeding reads the same as before. Took to hydro shop so the guy can tell me its calibrated, I knew that. Why check ppm and ec than?

Sometimes your source water can change. The manuacturer of the nutes your using might change how they formulate it. You can use it to check runoff/medium slurry to help identify issues. That's just off the top of my head.

I didn't check ec for the first couple years I did this, now I'd feel naked without my ec meter.

I am a tad old skool. I even wrote down my readings for 2 years. In my head and with the plants looking the way they do, it must be good to go...

I hear bluelab is in and Hannah is out. Wtf, I'm using my Milwaukee yellow. Anyhow feel free smokers to partake in this thread again. Puff puff puff, pass

Lol my hydro store guy took 6 top ph pens to test accuracy and all of them were off even after calibrating. I went back to the cheap liquid ph tester after that.
They arw notoriously inaccurate or less than perfect...especially the ones we use. Its inherent in the design. The imortant thing is to stick with the meter (preferably with a replaceble probe) you use and know well. Keep it calibrated and clean and stick with it.
