You can either pinch back the very top or take about 2-4 inches for a clone. Tops definitely make good cloning material, but most people don't want to sacrifice that much growth.

In your case, since they'll be indoors another 45 days, taking a cut off the top might be a good idea. They're going to be huge in 45 days, assuming you transplant them at some point.

I'm a topping nut, this pic shows the top I'll cut off just above the 2 small shoots on the sides of the stem. Don't cut the little shoots.

After you cut do you treat the cut or does it just heal on its own

45 more days?
no matter what you do they’ll be 2-3 ft tall.. and you don’t want to be causing lots of stress before going outside..

It heals on its own. Try and wait until there is 2 off shoots developing and there is enough separation between the nodes to cut easily. I like to leave some stalk, like a trunk to help prevent the splitting of the main stalk when I tie down the branches

If you use the top for a clone make sure you do it before the stem gets to thick and fleshy, in a week or so your plants trunks are going to thicken up a lot judging from how well established and healthy they look. Thick fat fleshy clones struggle hard, they are hollow and susceptible to rot easy. You want the stem to be thin and a little woody. Under branches work good, just have to time the top cutting right, I’ve only had a few make it.

I just saw a clip the other day on cloning and they said the bottom shoots and branches were better for cloning than the tops. Something about more of the proper hormones in cuttings from the lower portion of the plant. . " quoted from a Jorge Cervantes book. I've never had success with using the tops either.
