I had been picking aphids off my plants by hand for a few weeks with some success slowing them down. When the population got to be more than I could keep in check, I tried a homemade insecticide soap. I gave things a thorough warm water bath/spray after applying the soap, oil, and water solution. Still lost a 15-18 leaves off of each plant. Apparently I didn't rinse them off well enough.

Oh well, chalk it up with the other things I've learned on this grow. I'm putting the spray bottle down and trying a no-chemical approach to keeping aphids down to a minimum. It's basically a more efficient way to remove them by hand. Should work well for sucking em off the stems and the underside/top side of the leaves.

Get a insect and pest management.

Ipm spray and drench your plants.

For Aphids I use a couple of drops of dish soap in a litre of room temp water, mix it up well, pour it into a hand spray bottle, set it to the finest spray you can, and blast them, no wash off, no chemicals.
