My plants are on risers. My thought is air getting to the bottom of the pot. Is this a good or bad idea? Should it just sit on the saucer?
You can do what ever works for you : ) I like my pots to not be sitting on a “solid” surface rather like a screen.(most of my plants are in fabric pots) These two, one is on sits directly on the grate and the other sits on the stool, if that one wasn’t in a hard plastic pot I would probably have some screen or grate under it.My plants are on risers. My only reason I'm worried about the riser is it has 3 little cups where the legs extend from. Would this standing water be a problem? Take yourself a drill, or even just a nail and hammer if you have to. Drill or punch out some drainage in the leg holes just to be safe. Why doesn't anyone take clay pots? It's a great temperature regulator and much more))))) you can put drainage material in such pots and then put it wherever you want, it won't freeze or dry out and it won't overheatMy only reason I'm worried about the riser is it has 3 little cups where the legs extend from. Don't take everything at face value.Perhaps such recommendations are due to the standardization of the quality of products produced on the basis of a standard set of fertilizers, they are all made very similar to ca/mg or pkWOW ! I've seen countless recommendations and warnings NOT to leave your plant pot directly on the saucer... I'm not against what your saying, everyone has their own style, this is just the first time I've seen anyone mention leaving the pot directly on the saucer...
For me in cloth pots, I like the air on the bottom of the pot, otherwise my plant stays wet a little too long... I also like to collect and test runoff water for testing PH and a runoff tray helps...
What pot is that? Not the plant lolThe little cups would probably evaporate after a day or 2, depending on the amount of water they hold and temps.
My 1 Gallon Challenge plant, I'm using a runoff tray that has a built in riser so catches the water and allows for air flow. Low profile as well so minimal height loss.
