Plant yields too heavy for plant

I have a plant that will be ready to harvest in about a week, it rained today which made the heavy yields hang lower to the ground. Should I just leave the plant alone?

Whenever it rains go shake every branch so you don’t have water sitting inside of buds. This’ll help get rid of some extra unneeded water in your plant branches where the buds and leaves are.

no, you should not.when they bend the usually touch each other or the floor those places will be full of water and will not dry like the rest its a place where mold will grow usually.
and as other user said shake them to remove water. i would get some sticks and make suports for your plants.or a simple cord around the outside soo they hold each other

Make sure to build some kind of Trellis. Same thing happened to me, and I missed an opportunity to prevent serious damage. Heavy wet buds, without adequate support + high winds = early harvest!

Too late now, but you should cage your plant when it’s small. Depending on the size of your plants, I’d recommend using remesh (used in masonry) from any big box hardware. Comes in 7’x 4’ sheets that you can roll into a tower and cost $20. (Bring bungee cords to store so you can load into a small vehicle). It has 7” spacing so easy to get your hands in (unlike chicken wire or rolled mesh with tiny holes that will make your life a living hell).

You can cut the sheet in 2 and make a couple 4’ tall cages or a single wider 7’ tall one. Then you can tie your branches either down (in veg to create space) or up when it starts flowering.

Which will easier handle a 6’ plant. In my experience it’ll even work for 8’- 10’.

They also make excellent drying racks come harvest time. Easy to transport around.

I cut up concrete reinforcement wire for my tomato’s . Made round cages for them. For my weed I put 4 stakes in and put the wire horizontal. We get hurricanes and nor’easters here, no more split plants
