I just started feeding every other watering at 1/4 strength. How do you know when to transplant and top? Topping is after 3 nodes, right? They look good remember keep it simple. Time to pot up to bigger pots soon. Are you feeding yet.
That makes perfect sense.Oh man, I can go into a bit about the humidity control but without really playing with the setup you'll have to experiment a bit for yourself.
But yes humidity would fluctuate if exhaust were an on/off thing, thats not necessarily bad if its just cycling pretty often all times. But like leaving it go up all night, then exhausting it back to dry can be an issue. but if you're exhausting it all to like 10% all the time its not really helpful at either. So at this point with small plants in there you might try just not exhausting and opening the tent once in a while, does it really get that high? I don't see those babies making it jump past 60%s very quick. And they really don't need that much air exchange, for like what 50 leaves total.
When they start getting more leaves to transpire you'll notice the humidity levels go up much more, and the low exhaust setting might just get it closer to your goal without overdrying. Then they'll get into flower and you'll want to bring that down more and you can turn er to high, and with all the plants in there it'll still stay up a little bit.(won't get bone dry so fast) Does that make sense?
I think my biggest hangup on some growspaces is actually all that excess power. Running dehumidifiers, humidifiers, ac and heat in the same space so they're always cycling back and forth with each other and all that conditioning is just getting blown out the window anyway. Lungrooms...
Thanks! I'm using grow big right now. I thought the Tiger Bloom was for the last 2 weeks of flower?Great job recovering them, nicely done. They look a bit dark to me so I would lay off the Nitrogen a bit, but it could just be the lighting. I always use BioBizz which just involved me feeding the plants fish mix until flower, should be the same one nute until flower deal with most organic lines. Not sure what system foxfarm nutrients use, but just make sure you are not using flower nutes during veg, I knew someone who did this and wasted a whole bottle. Their leaves were always really dark and I could never understand why.
I'm doing it because it seems like almost everybody does it. Plus, I thought it had to be a certain ph to absorb nutrients, no?
Tiger bloom is 2-8-4... that is way way way too much (P) for what MJ really wants in any stage. I have never had better results than I have with 3-1-4 from start to finish & I have been at this for over 20 years & will never ever use more (P) than (N). Like 1-1-2 or 7-7-14 or 20-20-40 would be as high as I would ever go with the (P) but even that amount is totally unnecessary for most strains.Hi yep I'm using a little of the big bloom say once per week and grow big every second watering, they seems ok with that for now, wont touch the tiger bloom until I go into flowering phase. Amounts tend to vary depending what I think they need, I'm trying to read the plants not stick to any schedule religiously
well you correct your medium PH with the PH of the water & nutes you feed the soil, no?Yea ignore me....ever notice that im not the only one who tells others to stop dicking with ph unless you're growing hydroponically? because it's your media's ph that's far more important
Lol, gotcha. ThankIgnore him, you have no idea what water source or nutes he is using.
When I run growbig and magamp only my ph is super stable, no ph adjustments. But I still check it everyday.
After you have 5 years experience, then you can stop checking it :)

You were absolutely correct. The soil when from dense and wet, to well draining. Ann's I added in SO much peat and pearlite. Plus...NO growth. If it wasn't for uppity guys, these things would be dead and I'd be out another $80.Both of those varieties are damn near impossible to overwater, although the HP really drains out quickly. What I like about it is that you can water the sh!t out of it, then come back 2 hours later, dig down 6 inches, and the medium is damp but not soggy... it allows a ton of O2 in and keeps the water suspended but not suffocating. To me, it's foolproof and super easy and cheap to use with a few additions (I add about 20% Compost/manure and a half cup of wood ashes per 5 gallon). I think the HP also contains the same root stimulant as the BX variety.

these are the same ppl that will tell you that you need more cal-mag no matter what you're doing
I use wood ashes from my fireplace. They are all organic from local hardwoods. A half cup or so will help to keep your growing medium buffered, plus provide plenty of P & K, as well as many micro nutrients. This eliminates, or at least reduces, the need for cal-mag and Ph up. It will raise the Ph if used excessively, which is why I mix it into the soil without using too much. You were absolutely correct. The soil when from dense and wet, to well draining. Didn't you say you use wood ash? Where do you get wood ash if not from burnt wood?
I also saw my home depot receipt the other day and it was the course pearlite.
For sure. Everybody had been helpful. I know everybody does things differently, but it's good to hear what they are, what worked, what to stay away from, etc. I actually just posted a few pics. I topped one of them so far. I'm almost positive it's time to do it. After everything I've already screwed up, I'm pretty nervous. How your plants looking today stone chick? When you get a chance put up a pic or two just wondering how they are getting on? Anyways good luck with your endeavours we are all learning here, me along with you, a lot of advice people giving you is useful for me also... hope things are going well
Looking good to me, topping and training is more of a personal preference influenced by space available and desired end results, eg sea o green ect,For sure. Everybody had been helpful.
