Ok guys thankyou I thought I had killed them and yes I’m going to take this as a lesson learnt I will not touch the plants for the next couple weeks at least. This is my first grow I guess shit like this has to happen at one point just glad I haven’t had to learn it by killing them outright.
It is now the start of week 4 the guide I’m following has an increase in the an and b to 1.5ml/L this gave me a water with ec 1.4 and I phd to 6. Is the ec range suitable for week 4?

Increasing feed right after you defoliate is usually counterproductive. You're asking the plant to process more with less. You're plants will grow great in veg at 1 or 1.2 EC until they get bigger.

Ok thankyou I already fed with 1.4 ec but tomorrow and until I see them grow bigger I will go back to 1.0 then it shouldn’t matter feeding them with 1.4 this one time should it?

First grow, huh? First rule of thumb with cannabis. Less is more. Once you gain some experience, you'll know what you can and can't do ... what you can push and what you have to be patient with.

You asked the question above. Then didn't wait for the answer. This is why you're going to have trouble. Stop/wait for the answer before diving right in ...

Do you see why this is a problem? We're trying to help you but in your eagerness, you're not even waiting for the answer before heading off on your own path. When you want to do this please see my sentence above ...

If you don't feed them correctly and maintain proper root zone health in hydro your DLI numbers don't mean shit. You're putting the cart before the horse. Learn to walk before you run...the analogies are endless.

Yes I understand that haha. I’m just asking to prevent further damage do you recommend dimming the lights a bit until new growth ?

Ok thankyou I know that’s my main disadvantage I really like growing I have just been too eager but I’m going to change that starting now. I really do hope I can correct these mistakes and it’s not too late though. That would be a real shame.

Cannabis is pretty resilient. You should still be fine if you seek out the answers first. One of the next questions I'm sure you will have is "when should I top the plant?"

My answer to that is what are you trying to accomplish by topping it? Topping isn't even required to grow good weed so we will start there. There are good reasons why you might top. There are good reasons why you might not top. To give you the best answer, we would need to know what your intended outcome is. Then we can help you get there safely.

I was told by someone who worked at my local hydro store to top them for a more even canopy and bigger yield is this true. And thank you I hope it still grows.

Not always.

It depends on what you do after you top your plants. It also depends on how you train your plants. How long you veg after topping. There's way too many variables there so the answer you were given can be misleading.

If you want to top and increase your yield, you must veg your plants at least a few weeks longer if not more to take full use of the topping. In other words, you need new growth before you flip to 12/12. How much new growth depends on how you plan on filling your space.

What if I told you that you can accomplish the even canopy using LST methods? You don't top. You don't have to stop and wait for new growth. You simply start early by tying down the main stem so you're forcing lateral branching. Here's an example ... none of these plants were topped.

If you don't want Christmas tree shaped plants you top them. Or tie them down. Or supercrop them. All good options.

Another case of putting the cart before the horse as far as I'm concerned.

I don't see why not. You will have to slow down and wait for answers sometimes. So far, you have been given good advice ... starting with "leaving those green solar panels on the plants' and on down the line with everything that's been said in response. You're in good hands. With some patience in waiting for responses, you have an outstanding chance of a successful grow.

Ok the main reason I haven’t been just asking questions before I do things is because I didn’t want to be annoying by asking questions frequently but I guess this is what the point of a forum is I will ask before I make big decisions now!

That will work very well! It's why we are here ... to help you out.

There's no problem in being new to growing. Experienced growers can share their knowledge and help you avoid the school of hard knocks ... there are many pitfalls and areas where "back yard" answers will get you in trouble. Remember, everyone was a beginner once upon a time.

Yes exactly this thankyou man for being so understanding I am in no way saying I am good at growing haha one thing I am good at it being humble with things I am doing and I didn’t expect my first grow to go swimmingly. Rome was not built in a day haha !!
