Cheers pal. That looks sweet !!

I've found this kit, and I'm probably going to have them shipped from USA, as that seems to be the cheapest way.

Happy growing.

You could save yourself $70 if you checked that link I posted. That's almost 1/4 of the price.

No biggie. Kingbrite is a reliable and reputable dealer. They'll also make sure you get a separate receipt so customs don't rob you.

Do I need to do anything regarding receipts and customs, or would Kingbrite sort that? I assume it will be secure too.

Cheers again, awesome !!

Been chatting to Nancy at kingbrite, and she's sorted a list of kits. Very cheap too, compared to UK (no shock there). 5 cobs with a MW HLG-240H-C1400B. Glass covers too.

Thanks for the help everyone. I wouldn't have had a clue.

Peace out !!

Can a single C1400B driver run 5 cobs?

The 1400 number means it will provide constant current at up to 1.4 amps. The 240 means 240 watts (actually specd at 250w)....more than enough to drive the five lights. Looks like since this is most likely wired in series each cob will see 1.4amps at ~36v per cob.

Check datasheet for citizens, lookup or calculate the forward voltage at given current at 50°C then multiply that forward voltage with 5 and have a look at meanwell datasheet to see what is the maximum output voltage. Depending on the junction temperature of the COB, the voltage will eventually stabilize and so will the current. You might not get the whole 1400mA but pretty close.

With 179V max on the output of the driver

each COB will see 35.8V. Datasheet for the citis says 34.6V @1080mA @25°c typical.

Take some heat in account and the Vf will drop enough to get the full 1400mA
