Just wondering if anyone has tried to pollinate a single female plant with pollen from multiple males? To speed some breeding up I was going to try to pollinate a single female by bagging up a few branches by 2 or 3 different male pollens. Wasn't sure if this is easily done without cross pollinating each of the combinations?

Also, this may be a dumb question but if I mixed 2 male pollens together and then brushed them on a bud site, would I get a combination of seeds from both males or would it somehow combine the two males for a new hybrid? I am assuming they would not mix to produce a different strain... but I could hope..lol

I just started my plants and they are still seedlings but I plan on spraying a few females with STS to get pollen and wanted to pose the question now.

Thanks,..Peace

This is a weird cannabis gang bang.

In all seriousness though, you can definitely pollinate each bud with different pollen.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone pollinated different branches of the same female with different males, but it sounds like it could be a major pain in the ass. I wouldn't know how long you could keep a branch bagged up and isolated without causing some kind of fungal situation.

How about taking a bunch of clones of one proven mother plant and pollinating them separately?

If you brushed mixed pollen on female flowers, the offspring would be from one or the other male.

I like the idea of your cannabis bukkake pollination

It totally can be done. Just keep track of which arm is pollenated with which males. though no perfect guarantee on which pollen gave you which seed

Thanks,
I wasn't sure if after a short period of time after you pollinated a female that maybe the excess pollen would not be active anymore and I could take the bags off in 3-5 days and not worry about it?

You can rinse it with water, which deactivates pollen.

So how many days would I wait after pollination before I rinsed with water? This would fully deactivate it pollen and I would not have to worry about cross pollination?

Do you have to worry that the wrong pollen will hit a flower on the wrong branch? Yes. That's why I think you're in for a pain in the ass.

If pollen gets wet, it's over for that pollen grain. if it doesn't get wet, it's not over. Not sure what else can be said.

The rest is up to you to experiment with. I've never done what you want to do, because I don't think I can do it and be assured none of the wrong pollen hit the wrong branch.

I see what you are saying. My plan was to start by bagging off the branches of half the female. Apply pollen to the other half with Male #1. Then bag off the bratches I just pollinated and apply pollen from Male #2 and then re-bag them.

Wait for how ever long I need to (3-4 days??) then unbag Male #1 pollinated branches and rinse with water. Then bag them back up. Then unbag branches with Male # 2 pollen and rinse with water.
Then unbag everything and let dry then put back in my tent.

I wouldn't leave them bagged up for more than a day or two. The humidity will hit about 100% in the bag, and that's not going to be good. In 3 or 4 days, you could have some fungal diseases.

I just did that. You can carefully paint one branch at a time and label them.
