Hey everyone, I have a question regarding my AC unit. I have an 2014 model Ideal Air 12000 BTU portable AC (model 700870) I'm only running LEDs and the are cools pretty well. I like the fact I can run it in a sealed room, but I would like the ability to set a daytime night time temp. I called the company and procured the manual. In the manual it says it has auto restart capabilities which made me think about a controller. When I flip the breaker to the unit its not auto restarting. I have to push the power button. I am stuck on what to do. Does anyone have an idea of a controller or experience with this type of unit. Its perfect for my space, just trying to dial it in. Any info is appreciated!

If it has a remote there is a way to control the temperatures via a controller. I have used the trolmaster controller with an AC module to control the ac in a sealed room. But the ac unit has to use an infared remote.

Just come across this post while searching the forum for better ideas on how to control my split unit AC. Does the trolmaster controller turn the AC off once temps have been reached or does it let the AC reduce power so less cooling is happening? I'm using two Tado smart AC controllers (one to heat and one to cool) but the problem i have with them is when my new big dehumidifier kicks in the temps rise quite quickly and because the Tado tells the AC to turn on from being completely off by time the AC has had time to turn on and get working the room temps could of already gone up by 3oC maybe more so then it cools the room so you end up with big temperature swings. If I just use the remote control for the AC I can set it to 25oC and the AC will run all the time but sometimes it's not cooling just circleing air, problem with this is I can't set day/night temps or use the AC to heat in the winter...
