Hi.
This is the Amnesia Haze auto that I grew with Sweet Gelato. I had a problem with the leaves drooping (both) every 6 hours and for about 2 weeks I watered a lot in an attempt to solve the problem.
Also, the leaves turned yellow early in flowering and eventually most of them dried up completely.
Sweet Gelato is fine without any brown spots but Amnesia, which is supposed to be resistant to mold, has these reddish brown spots on the leaves and inside the bud.
I only had a problem with rot once and it was obvious because apart from the foul smell the taste was disgusting, every puff made me want to vomit.
This one doesn't have such problems, it doesn't smell bad or taste moldy but since I already have a health problem I don't want to risk it.
I have 4 other plants but the irony is that I can't vape them because they have too much THC and I get a burning sensation in my chest from anxiety.
I tried 55% CBD to offset the THC but unfortunately to no avail, only amnesia gives me a peaceful high.
Maybe I should leave them in the sun for a while? If anyone knows any other way to reduce the THC I would be grateful.

Over riping them is a way to convert THCa into CBN which combined results in a more mellow high. I would suggest perhaps growing 1:1 or 2-3:1 strains, its not the same as mixing one THC strain with a CBD strain, if you dont have such strains it helps to mix some CBD but these strains are bred to give you a relaxing high and my best friend smokes them. My first 3 recommendations are always Euphoria and Royal Highness from RQS, intense trichome production and nice flavor or Fruity Jack (philosopher seeds) if you want more THC ratio than CBD (2-3:1). But there's plenty more that you can search for.
As for letting that one ripe more, not a good idea the leaves will keep drying and the smell and taste will dissapear. I dont think its botrytis I had this happen my last grow and it was because I was pushing them too much with the lights and light schedule (I was doing 6/2 for autos). What light and at what distance?

The thing is when I fucked them up, probably everything else got fucked up, they were not taking food despite the fact that I was feeding them, tried to water them more often and it didnt help much, dimmed the lights quite a bit and swaped to bio-minerals and it got a bit better for a few days but it kept progressing. Some I had to chop early, some made it to the end but a couple of them lost all flavor. Theyre not harsh to smoke, theyre smooth, and the THC is there, but there's no flavor, those 2 only had the bud leaves green everything else was depleted. Others I was lucky and finished before that happened.

The red color could be a nutrient problem or just genetics.

Also this only happened once to me, I suspect for messing with the schedule and using old poorly stored seeds, I dont usually grow autos and I never had this happen before my last grow so needless to say Im just speculating, maybe someone else has the real explanation. Or maybe its botrytis but if its that advanced its rare that theres no mold growing on top of the botrytis an it usually starts inside of the biggest buds where it has more moisture.

Looks like that plant still has some time left to finish. Choping early is another way of having less THC and the flavor will be probably better than a late chop, the more you over ripe the more taste they lose. I think it gives a weird high though, but maybe its just me. CBD is bad for me and usually is harmless for most people so maybe the CBGa (precursor of THCa) doesnt do me good either.

Thank you! From my research, I understand that bud rot is very sneaky, the smell and taste are not always indicators of mold.
I need a strain with lower than 20% thc to have peace of mind and now i have weed with 30%, which is overwhelming.
As for the lights, it was under 250W hps in the vegetative stage and at flowering I used the lumatek ats 300w pro at 30-35 cm distance, but I don't think it's the light intensity because the brown spots are not only in the upper part.
It's a pity, because this one gave me an impressive 210g the biggest harvest after 5 years of growing.
i chopped it 4 months ago and it took 110 days.

Bud rot makes me cough my lungs out because Im asthmatic, thats partially why I decided to grow my own (also because of money of course, its expensive to buy). I can cerrtainly tell that I had the same symptoms happen and it started from bottom to top (dont know if thats your case though) and it had nothing to do with botrytis or any mold, but maybe we have the same symptoms for different reasons. I can just speculate what went wrong in my case and the only thing I changed from my usual practices is trying the 6/2 schedule, which in theory many people use for autos without a problem but Im no expert on autos, thats just what I read.
Also it wasnt nitrogen deficiency I tried feeding more and recalibrating the soil when swaping to bio-minerals to ensure proper balance of nutrients and it kept progressing.

I have a precancerous condition in my esophagus and although there are no studies on it, it's probably best not to vape that brown stuff.
I may be playing with fire by vaping cannabis, but we're all going to die in the end.
I don't remember where the brown marks started, but I don't cough when I vape it.
As for the taste, I've never had it in the 5 years I've been growing autos. Only in the last harvest did I have some taste, probably due to the transition from hps to led, but no spectacular results.

Do I need a strain that has high cbd alongside thc, or can I get the same result (reduction in thc) if I first vape cbd and then vape cannabis with thc?

So sorry to hear that, hope it can get better. Vaping is much better than smoking you already know thats why you swaped, all those hundreds of chemicals that occur during combustion are not there.
The fact that you dont cough is good but maybe is still slightly affected. And even if botrytis is not present now or its not a big deal, its more likely to happen if the plant is sick and has dead and dry stuff. Vaping, like smoking, destroys the spores so there's no risk on that part but I would wait for someone else's input that had more experience with this problem as it might not be the same. You know how it is, many problems look similar without proper knowledge and some can be the result of another problem that is causing it.

Thanks a lot eledin for these helpful info. I will play it safe and leave it aside because neither vaping or smoke destroy all spores. I just need to find a way to lessen the impact from the monsters of thc I grew.
Generally, I vape less than 0.5 grams per week, but I tried vaping every day for 16 days, and that 30% thc still gives me the creeps.

Can we get some close ups of the spots you’re worried about? Tak your time, if using a phone get a I like to zoom like 3/4 of max and then slowly get closer till I have a few clear up close picture

The leaves yellowing and reddening looks like genetics and that’s strains normal leaf growth and fade pattern,

Zoom in on where the dead leaves are meeting the cola and try to get a close up of a concerning point on the bud to you so we can see it clear up close

How high has your humidity been in your tent? Do you have constant air exchange and good air circulation inside the tent? Did you do any type of foliar spraying in flower?

Really? It was my understanding that above 50ºC and even a bit less theyre destroyed but I wouldnt swear on that. It can make you feel sick thats for sure, but having a spore in the lung is much worse than feeling sick. Are you considering growing an hybrid THC-CBD strain like I said? Or do you prefeer trying to search for a full THC strain that has a mellow high?

I found I have less issues and have better ease of growing when I scrog, mainly because you tend to have slightly smaller, but more consultant colas, in addition to that with the nets you can separate the colas so they have even airflow around them which greatly reduces disease and rot pressure on the plants, and makes inspecting individual colas through flower a breeze as they are all exposed and at the same height.

Over the years I found I always use some type of scrog now wether it’s permanent or within each bucket

Thank you! If i remember correctly the humidity was 50-55% at flowering but i believe the problem came from overwatering. I was trying to water till run off but with the biobizz soil i needed 5l of water for an 11l pot. Anyway, i did this 5 times flushing once with 16l and at the end of the grow with 20l, all the other waterings were 1.5 - 2l.
Space isn't an issue for me, as I'm growing 3 autos in a 1x1 tent.
Yes, i have good air exchange and air circulation and no, i didn't spray the foliar.

Yes, some spores remain intact and others are not destroyed 100%, i've read that from multiple sources. I'm not sure yet, I've never grown a hybrid before. It seems like a good alternative given my situation, even though I prefer a strong high that lasts at least 2 hours. Below 210c i don't feel anything special. Anyway, till next grow i have plenty of time to search more about hybrids.

I don't see any rot in those pics but boytrytis is usually on the inside you have to crack the flower open. That being said there's a really high leaf to calyx ratio on that plant which automatically puts you in the danger zone.

Even if your humidity numbers are good, if you over water you can get guttation that's almost impossible to see, but plenty enough water for rot.

Not every cultivar works in every grow

Perhaps the problem, from these photos, which are from jars of 4 months, is more visible. This is from inside the buds.
