Hi everyone,

Im looking for some help on a plant of mine. I think it could possibly be a Magnesium deficiency, but I’m not experienced enough to decide. Any help would be great. The plant in question:

Day 14
Super Silver Haze Auto
Coco + Perlite (70:30)

Nutrients:

AN Sensi Grow Coco
Silicon
Rhizotonic
RO Water

I’ve been feeding 3 times a day through a dripper system until ~10% run off. My current EC is 0.8 and PH is 6.2. I know the PH is slightly high for Coco, however, as I understand it, the AN Ph Perfect is absorbable at a wider PH range?

Day and night temperatures are within 7c of each other. Day time temperatures have previously spiked at 31c (trying to keep this lower, around 26c) with between 55%-66% RH.

I’m using a SpiderFarmer SF2000 at 90% now, which I gradually increased, alongside a 600w Blurple LED (Kingbo).

I have checked numerous plant deficiency charts but cannot pin this down.

Any help (and maybe an insight into your decision process) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Not cal-mag.. just mag.

check yer ph,

then check yer run off ph

then adjust and add epsom salts.

Can also add a cpl tsp to a gallon of water and foliar spray it on.

I have a question. Is it true about the reddish stems? Red stems sometimes mean signs of mag issue. If of coarse it’s genetic?

Check this out. Your leafs may start turning brown or dying off. The reddish stems early on are what I saw first and may be signs of phosphorus deficiency. Red stems, followed by brown spotting, then leafs die off. Keep an eye on em.

Awesome, thanks so much for the reply. I appreciate it. Was it the light-green between the veins that gave this away, or that combined with the red stems as mentioned?

Thanks again

Thanks burnz, that is very interesting. My PH had gotten out of whack which probably caused these issues. Once corrected, do you think this shouldn’t be an issue anymore? Or does your experience tell you there already past repair?

Thanks a lot

Oh no they are great. Just make the corrections you need to and everything should work itself out. I
Don’t have personal experience either issue but I try and help out. Keep doing what you’re doing and monitor your plants for further issue regarding the leafs. Happy grows.

Thanks again, I appreciate your input and help. Happy growing!

Do you think it’s worth a flush as well? Thanks
Don’t think you should flush in coco but I’m not a coco grower. I wanted to also add, autos are light feeders so take it easy with the nutrients at first and bump up the EC once
You see no signs of nutrient related stress.

Brilliant advice, thanks! Foliage spray has been added, so we will see how they get on.

I wouldn’t recommend foliar feeding either. Just my $.02. That might bring more issues to the surface by spraying. Some people spray but I’m against it after I charred one of
My plants. Haha.

Good to know. I will probably add a small amount of Cal-Mag to my feeding regime. I hadn’t previously used any as the Coco was pre-buffered and the AN coco line shouldn’t (supposedly) need addition cal-mag. Lesson learned. Thanks again guys!

I would suggest JUST epsom salts in water, I don't see a Calcium issue and you don't wanna add unneeded nutrients that will end up building up an harming your plant, Calium is a non mobile nutrient so it won't be taken up by new growth from older growth, mangesium however WILL move around your plant so if theres too much here and not enough there the plant can move it on its own.

Now thats not to say dump a 1/2 lb of salt into your soil and watch what happens, but foliar spray and a lil in your water when you feed goes a long way :D
