That's pretty fucking cool bro!Combining hydroponics with aquaculture. Instead of feeding synthetic nutrients , I feed the fish and they in turn feed the plants.
The Dual Root Zone is growing with 2 root zones. First half in soil , rest in hydro. The soil lets me add nutes during flowering. Aquaponics dont give off too much P´s and K´s , so this gets supplemented in the soil zone , without seeping into the hydro and affecting the fish.
Below is the system , you can see the black pots ontop of the growbeds , they hold the soil layer . The plant far right is just straight up aquaponic fed , doing a little experiment to see the difference between the different growing methods.

Did you mean ounces? Or did you really get between 25-40 lbs under 1200 watts lol?This is my second time growing. The first time was many years ago and ran nothing but Northern Lights #5 Autoflower under a 1200w HID with a light mover over 25 plants. My system then was a constant flow recirculating hydroponic in grodan slabs. I would average 1-1.6 lbs each plant.
Fast forward a few years to today. I am now trying my first grow in soil and have 10 plants in veg at the moment. 6 of them are Flintstones clones that just got transferred into 1 gallon pots. The other 4 (2 Chernobyl, they are different phenomes, 1 Bruce Banner, and 1 Flintstones) a in 13 gallon slotted pots sitting in 15 gal solid side pots.
Soil: 1 gallon = Fox Farm Happy Frog
13 gallon = 60/30/10 of Happy Frog / Ocean Forrest, and #4 Perlite.
Light: 600w HPS digital dimmable ballast.
This is also my first time topping, finding, and lst. Anything that anyone sees that I can do better with training?
