Hey guys I'm new to the forum and also growing. I have my first plant (outdoor) a few weeks from harvest and I've been battling PM. So in the past week and a half I've been doing the milk/water spray about 4-5 times but I had some questions....Is that the best method to wipe it out or would the h202/water mix be better to use? Also I imagine even if it's killing it how long does it take for it to not be visible anymore? I was also told by a friend to use neem oil but I've read a bunch of conflicting info. Some say you can do it up to 3 weeks before harvest and some say don't use at all in flower and if you do it will burn the hairs off and you will be able to taste it and will be harsh. Can anyone please offer some advice and help with these questions? I'd greatly appreciate it! Also can you guys look at some pics and tell me if that is PM or just trichs on the leaves?? Seems hard to tell the difference to me.

Wait youā€™re spraying them with milk? Like from
a mammal? Interesting.

Looks like a frosty nugget, the tip in the last photo might be a little weird. Tagging back up.

I would consider doing a bud wash after harvest to remove it, if that's what it is. It looks mostly like just frosty trichromes but the tips on a few leaves do look suspect.

3 buckets of water with the first one having baking soda + h2o2 or lemon juice. The other two for rinsing. Details can be found online.

I don't get bud washing?

Your buds look fine If your worried cut it and make bubble before the buds get pm.

Looks fine to me, still a light H2O2 rinse will ease your mind.

Hey, yeah I donā€™t really see whatā€™s wrong with your buds there unless you posting pictures of parts of the plant that are not affected by the white powder mildew? I donā€™t think anyone should ever spray milk on their stuff, but I know thereā€™s a few people here who swear by it itā€™s just not something that I would ever risk doing, but I would agree that probably doing a butt wash. Post harvest would be a smart thing to do.

I wash my butt even when Iā€™m not harvesting

Looks like trichomes to me. Donā€™t use any oils in flower. And cut back on your nitrogen feed as it promotes PM and your plants look shiny green (indicating too much N).

It removes WPM and any other contamination, but doesn't hurt the trichromes or terps if done right. A lot of outside growers do it to remove dirt, debree, dead insects and other contaminates that the buds collect from the wind or WPM.

It's outdoor, has pretty good airflow as im on a lake and have stalks spaced pretty good. I appreciate the advice!

Thanks I had seen Jorge video and was thinking of doing it. I was just worried about washing off or hurting the quality but definitely will do!

Thanks for the help! I'm having trouble distinguishing the difference between trichs and pm I guess. I'll post some early pics of when my buddy told me it was definitely pm. But now I'm wondering lol. I'll post them now and I'll update with some better shots in the day tomorrow of the current state. Thanks again!

Thanks guys for all your help! It really is a huge help. I'll post some more pics of some areas in question and maybe you guys can help me fiqure if it's pm or not. Appreciate it fellas!

Hey Cwat.....the very first picture looks like it could possibly be WPM....the leaf that is closet and a little blurry....

Bud washing......there is not an outdoor grow that I would not wash my buds......ever....little story if you don't mind....very short and to the point....

Grew some outdoor a few years ago....tried anyways....but at harvest, lost some to WPM and some to bud rot......dried and cured the good stuff....everything was good.....then.....

I went to grind some bud up, grabbed a couple buds, started breaking it up when I see a snails shell.....tiny little fucker....

I dry heaved a few times......and then a couple more times.....the thought of šŸš¬ a snail was all it took....I ended up tossing a couple ounces because of it.....

So yeah......this kid will, WILL, always, ALWAYS wash my buds from outdoor!!!!!!!!
