Hey everyone! I just harvested a indoor Blueberry plant today and didn't discover that it had powdery mildew until I started trimming off some fan leaves. It's a very mild case of it (in my opinion) but it's definitely there. I don't have a good digital camera with a macro lens or I would post pictures.
Anyways...my question is what are your thoughts on using harvested bud with slight PM and using it to make BHO, tinctures or butter? It seems like a solvent type extraction would extract the THC and leave the mildew and everything behind. What do you think?

If it's mild, give it some UV light- even bright sunlight will do- and that should knock down the PM. You should even be able to smoke it...

was just discussing a similar prob with another guy, imho it depends, if your a med grower imo u def cannot put this medicine out there for smok, a healthy human may not be affected by using this medicine, but someone who is already sick may have a really bad reaction. i believe tincture or bho would be safe because it would actually kill all the spores as it would be soaked. i understand what ttystikk is saying but imo unless every spore is exposed to the uv some would remain and possibly be dangerous. wo seeing a pic its hard to say a small amout to one man may be dangerous levels to another. not trying to be a pita but....THIS IS JUST MY OPINION i am not a medical proffessional nor am i a pathogen specialist, just my $.02

Just threw away 5 zips for mold on it. Had way to much still wet in a small glass jar.I rather not even take the risk of myself or others health with it,not worth it!!

Zonkerly, mold caused by moisture with a dead plant material is very different from powdery mildew, which can *only* grow in living plant tissues.

A dip in H2O2 would be my own suggestion. It will kill the fruiting bodies and the spores that may be released, it will do nothing for the PM that's already within the plant tissues.

I once again put out my request for citable, verifiable papers discussing the effects, ill or otherwise, on humans from powdery mildew species.

Green cure? Safergro mildew cure? Caps root pack? I myself just started using green cure post harvest if i see small amounts of pm, if it were excessive i would prob toss it or make bho.
Quite curious about pm wash from the people that make mighty wash, heard nothing but good things about it so far.
But what i really need is to eradicate the pm and improve my conditions.

You can do a H2O2 dip for sure. Dip em shake off some of the excess water and then place a fan on them for a few minutes to a few hours. Then dry it and make some BHO, tinctures, butter ect.

Ed Rosenthal says you can just cut down your moldy plants, dry them and then make BHO ect. No need for a dip in a solution. Its surely up to you. Good luck :)

Thanks everyone for your input. It seems like everyone on here and other places online agree that making BHO out of it is usually ok. I'm glad to hear that Ed Rosenthal thinks it's alright. I'm gonna give it a shot and see how things go. I'll post pictures and updates to this thread. It'll be my first time making BHO, so this will be a learning experience.

Thanks again everyone
