Hey guys, just about to start my first ever grow. My question is, the manufacturer of the light recommends 30% power at 24 inches during seedling stage. I used the photone app and am getting mid 280s dead center of pots (where the seedlings will be). Am I good to go at manufacturer recommendations, or should I raise it up a little?

P.S. dont mind the toe😉

I would say at 280 you’re at the very high end for seedlings. I would leave the height and turn the light down a bit.

Awesome, thanks for the fast response! I've been reading up as much as I can, but it seems like alot of threads are created by or replied to by more experienced growers who have learned to finesse the plants more. Just really nervous since it s my first grow

When in doubt ask here! The folks on the farm happy to help, and generally have better guidance than the manufactures based on experience.

I’m assuming since I see no plants that they must just be popping the surface? If that’s the case no more then 100 ppfd at that point. You can do that under almost any light. Seedlings don’t take well to getting blasted by a bunch of light.

I am germinating right now, this is my final "dial in" run before sowing them. I will adjust my light. Thanks!

You might consider tidying that electrical octopus up a bit above your light. Looks like a invitation to cords getting loose and arching

Lol, it was actually much neater, but I was trying to be quick when I was adjusting the height. I might need to figure out a way to raise my tent. Not tall guy friendly

For anyone in the same spot: our PPFD and DLI guide uses this thread as an example. The maker's 30% at 24 inches landed at the top of the seedling range, so fresh sprouts are better off starting around 100 to 150 PPFD and working up.
